Harrison Chatting

Recommended Posts

I'm a great fan of Craig Edwards and have fought his corner on more than one occasion (like he needs me to do that)

I was gutted to hear that he has decided to let Harrison go on the transfer list.

The amount of games that H has saved the day i actually can't count but after hearing from a lot of the Blues fan's today the majority agree, Craig has got this decision wrong. Why would you get rid of someone that can come on and save a game?

As last years sponsor of Harrison Chatting i tend to have a personal interest in this, but i can't see how a person that has only ever played for Billericay Town from his school days to last Tuesday night can be dismissed so easily.

We won the game today but when i heard that Craig Edwards had let H go i was as disappointed as a loss to Chelmsford would make me feel.

Surely what ever differences both H & Craig have can be sorted out?

Best of Luck H

What is the rationale. Sure if a big team came in and made an offer we couldn't refuse AND it furthered H's career then fine. But surely to put him on the transfer list is pointless. I can't believe we need to slim the budget that much ( and I very much doubt if Harrison is a big earner anyway)

Surely what we had on the bench today was far from adequate.

I am nto happy and I am sure few supporters will be.

Suppose it's difficult to criticise when we don't know the full facts. Was the Chairman's post re Tuesday's end of game celebrations by only 10 players related to this?

I do worry that with so many injuries and with 2 games a week, we are looking very short on the bench. We can ill afford to lose creative players but I guess Craig has his reasons.

I have celebrated H's goals with as much enthusiasm as anyone else on here, but I recognise that Craig has given us the best start to the season we've had for an awfull long time. If he feels it's right then I'm prepared to trust him.

Maybe some time away from 'ricay will do H some good. Sometimes you need some perspective to recognise where you fit in the greater scheme of things.

Good luck H, wherever you turn up (but I'd give Maldon a Tiptreee a big swerve if I was you).

Letting Harrison go would be madness (IMO) Had he come on yesterday he would have had a field day in all that space on he left hand side.

As was said in a previous thread H seems to split opinion and I can see the argument that his best position is coming off the bench but H is Billericay through and through and has shown on many occasions he is a match winner.

i'm not going to discuss on Harrison here, but what I will say is, I am not aware of anyone at our club who wants H to leave, (Inc Harrison)

and, it has nothing to do with saving money.

Craigs management of our team has been second to none, whatever he choses to do will always be for the right reasons.

I have voiced my displeasure at Harrison going but quite why some posters need to put down some of our future stars from the U/21's to justify their opinion is so wrong.

Harrison missed the first two weeks of pre-season and turned up completely unfit. He started in our second and third matches vs Harrow and Lewes - He was rubbish and we won none of them.

Since then we have played 16 games and won 13 of them and some people think the manager has got it wrong. LMFAO!!

I think H maybe could have started a couple more games, the one against Leatherhead springs to mind and maybe one or two more when Billy was preferred but Craig has made his choices and he has been right. So many people have said that our success this season has been built around team work and team spirit. It's important that runs right through the squad.

However, I still think H is and can be a valuable member of our squad. Maybe he thinks the grass is greener simply because he hasn't been anywhere else - Maybe a month out on loan somewhere will do everyone some good. Being tranfer-listed doesn't necessarily mean the end as has been proved many times before.

I hope H stays at Billericay for a long time, but I suspect what happens next will be down to him as much as the Club.

Come on you Blues!!

TC said he did not know of anyone at the club who wanted H to leave, including H himself. So who put him on the transfer list?

One of the age old scenarios is for players to say "I don't want to leave but if I can't get regular first team appearances" blah, blah blah. This might be the case here.

H certainly has some talent, but he hasn't yet reached the level of the Whelpdales and Elders, to name just two former players. When Junior Luke arrived at the Club, I felt H was a better player but not any longer. H needs to either to get his head down and try and win a place in the first eleven or move on.

I would concur with some of what JL has said... I would be sorry to see him go but looking at all the posts, the majority of you have put H down as a player you wouldn't start with but would put on later in the game should the need arise. I fully appreciate that this is a team game but surely the lad wants to be remembered as more than a utility player?

Then again, there are some players that have specific talents which some managers would want to save for either a specific period of the game (or a specific opposition). Again, to win a league, you need a strong squad and any squad would be strong with H in it.

Apparently, H is available this evening and I hope he plays. And I hope he gets his head down and plays well. It's down to him to prove that he can do it and it's down to him to make his way back because I believe he has a part to play this season if he does.
