Enfield Town vs Ware

Doesn't it feel good to get three points from our last 'home match' at Cheshunt.

We certainly made hard work of it and left it very late. But while there's time there's Hope, and Liam certainly pops up with some very, very important goals for the club. Well done fellah!

Well done also to Steve and the rest of the team.

We can all now look forward to the new stadium and a big push for promotion.

Enjoyed the game very much yesterday, although us scoring in the 88th minute probably played the biggest part of it.

Ware obviously came to frustrate us and indeed had something to fight for after capitalising with a goal after a lapse in concentration from our boys. Going 1-0 down against a team whose main aim is to stick 9-10 men behind the ball just magnifies the problems we faced yesterday.

Saying that adam, Leon and Dean all had chances to shoot at goal in good positions but were mindful the ball was on there weaker foot and either decided to pass or try and check onto the stronger side. Without a positive outcome.

However, we scored two great team goals, which believe me Steve/Jason and Rudi should take as much credit for as the players as they were buid up plays and moves straight off the training ground.

Another special mention also to the sub's that came on, matata came on and upset the oppo in his own way and Dan came on for the last 6-7 mins and in that time put in 3 fantastic headers which set us on the attack, should have scored when clean throgh and played the initial pass in the build up to the move which saw us score our second, well done all round, 3pts in the bag and a new chapter for the club from next week.

I thought Michael Ewang was excellent at centre back personally, and would have been my pick for MoM - I can't actually think of any clear cut chances that Ware had other than the goal (which I don't think he was at fault for), and he made numerous interceptions and clearing headers as well as being prepared to put his foot on the ball and help us play out of defence. The fact that we didn't really miss a player of Kirbs' quality says to me that he had an excellent game. That's not to say that Adam (and others) didn't also play well - we were worth our win based on possession and chances created, so well done to Steve and the team on another hard earned 3 points!

He was on the bench, and came on for the last 5 minutes or so on Saturday - according to Steve's notes in the programme, he has a hamstring injury, but he must be nearing full fitness, or I doubt we'd have risked him off the bench. Will be good to see him back in the side soon, both in defence, and for his threat from set pieces.

I heard he had recovered but had a touch of flu on Saturday.
