Spelthorne Sports 2-0 Knaphill. FT.

Scorers: Staples, OG.

Tough first half today as we had to defend for most of the first half. Spelthorne lucky to keep their skipper on the pitch after hauling down our forward in what looked like last man. Second half was stretched with neither keeper really having to be called into action.

Tough break for the second as our keeper made a save on the 6yrd box, only for the palm away to hit our centre half and roll into the net. The typical luck you get when things are tough! Lovely pitch at there and they are a very good side, credit to them for playing good football.

Roll on Tuesday when Phil Ellery officially and finally takes over at the club!

Watched the first half spelthorne had a lot of the ball and played some nice stuff good first goal and could of had 3 or 4 but think wattsy was spot on saying the it was a red for the sports skipper pulling coombes back and being the last man was very lucky.

Knaphill have lost a lot of players looked like 3 new players jay, warren, big Jim need 4 or 5 more to be mid table this season

Yeah, I think we were lucky to keep our skipper on the pitch, with that incident happening about 15 mins in it could've been a different result although we were 1 up at the time. Despite that we had plenty of chances to kill the game off before half time but couldn't find the net. It wasnt one of our best performances but glad to come away with the win seeing that Knaphill players are now keen to impress their incoming manager.

I hope andy is ok and wish him a speedy recovery but its part and parcel of the game. These things happen all the time in football and I myself have had to go to hospital. The last time being a month ago when I had concussion from a challenge but I didn't moan about it as I accept that I may get injured. And I'm also pretty sure it wasn't deliberate and the fact that andy carried on playing without making a fuss shows that it wasn't intentional and he accepts that it happens

Gilesy08 looking forward to next week . Eversley last 10 league games won 8 drew 2 and warlingham won 8 drew 1 lost 1. Too form teams. What are the odds on a 0 0 draw.

Sheetwater defended well for 30 mins yesterday but once we scored it was game over. At 4 0 at ht sheetwater could have just given up but worked hard second half and last 3 goals came in last 5 mins. We played some really good stuff today . Baker was superb again and with 3 or 4 players still to come in we not in bad shape. 2 massive games coming up.

Worcester Park, hope they never get put in the same league as Molesey... Only tactic they employed was to try and get our players stretchered off

Horrible people, horrible ground

Old Mole I will comment on a statement if I feel it is wrong , to call WPFC " Horrible People Horrible Ground is just poor !

Feltham V Lammas

Thought lammas were a better side overall and deserved the win, think they had a closer game then they had imagined though. Our defence handled a good lammas strike force pretty well and they didnt trouble us much. Problem was we didnt trouble redders and co much either! First goal was a pen after a bit of poor defending by our left back who stuck out a leg on the advancing rideout who went down, no complaints. Second was a header quite deep in the box shouldnt of beaten our keeper from that far back but somehow it looped over him. Lammas did hit bar a couple times in first half. That was it really roll on guernsey!

Oh yeah brunty that 360 you tried to do on me was ledge! Lol dont forget to take the ball next time

Cobham 2-4 Hartley

Kob's comments...

Very well done today lads. While it's 3 points like any other league win, this to me was a big win because Cobham were a very decent side all over the pitch today and we had to be right on our game to beat them - they were on a good run and are sure to continue taking points off teams if they keep that form going. So, a tough game and a big three points.

We responded well to twice going behind - not a situation we've been used to this season, but you have to give Cobham credit for giving us a real test. Right-back Luke Pearson got on the end of a loose ball in the 6-yard box for our first soon after they scored; they scored following the award of a dubious free-kick, then Blocko powered in a header across goal for our second. 2-2 at the break.

We were ok first half but defended well second half. Willo gave another master class performance at times. Ben Dillon struck a terrific goal low and hard into the corner after good work from Jack Coventry to give us the lead. We seemed to end the stronger and when Dan Brownlie unleashed a superb shot from distance late on to put us 4-2 up, that was that.

Do we bother to mention the Ref? Well, he doesn't deserve it. Decisions that were at times inexplicable and threw our focus a little, but we didn't lose our heads and great credit to you lads for that. On the side we were a bit worried for Big J after the first half booking but he kept his cool and led the line very well as usual - well done J

A good game of football on a bobbly pitch, credit to both sides.

Very fair summary Tekkers, wasn't an exciting game really, few chances. Just want to say how much Feltham have proved from last season and how far they have come too. Thought at times they play some decent football and will cause teams problems. Nice to keep a clean sheet for once. Another goal for Gary James too!

South park 2-1 Farnham

As expected a tough, physical, exciting match between the two promoted teams from last year.

Farnham set-up as a defensive 4-5-1 working hard to get men behind the ball and deny us time and space. Park played the better football in the first half creating several chances Chris Smith scored the first after some great work by Dave Smith down the right, Farnham didn't really trouble us too much in the first half I don't think their lone striker 9 touched the ball once in the first half.

2nd half was a different story Farnham came out and really took the game to SP with the Farnham no 6 becoming a much bigger influence on the game. But the Park defence were tough and resilient working hard as team to deny Farnham any clear cut opportunities.

In one of the few times that we got the ball down and played we got our 2nd on a fast counter attack with Georgie Smith lobbing the keeper to make it 2 nil. Within about 2 mins Farnham equalised after Wazza saved a shot from distance which rebounded into the path of Corbett (I think) to make it 2 - 1 and set the match up for a very competitive last 20 minutes.

Both teams had chances in the final 20 minutes but the SP defensive efforts prevailed.

All the best to Farnham had a good chat with their manager after and agree with what he said that if they played with that intensity they soon start to pick up some wins and move up the table ... and all the best to Corbett who i hear is in the England Beach Soccer Squad!!!!!

Do south park sign any players without the name smith ...............

We try not too :D got about 5 all in all in the first team squad !! Also our secretarys a bit slow so it helps if he's got short names to put on the team sheet

Bomaya: thank you. This was a hard game not least because C & H were, to say the least, robust in their challenges, to the extent that I am surprised they left the pitch at the final whiste with eleven men. In fact their 10, Harry Smart (there's a misnomer) was about to get a second yellow but the referee clearly bottled it. He also bottled booking Haywood, their centre half, for a blatant shove in the back of Matt Grave, not that Grave gave a toss as he scored two (made by Tom Hedges) and made one (for Tom Hedges). Now we have the hardest job, staying top, which with Horley Town, Windsor and of course Guildford City all decent sides this could be one hell of a season.

and South Park...Camberley etc and not forgetting Hanworth Villa? If Villa win their games in hand they will be top.despite being deducted points earlier in the season!

If we can be anywhere near top spot by April I will be over the moon but lets not get carried away just yet eh. It's gonna be a long hard slog over the winter months ahead.

Up the Egham ! :)

Good to meet you Newby - pints on me at ours

Games aleady been covered. Best chance we're ever have of taking home 3 points from Bedfont and our players bottled it. A lesson in desire from Sports and after seeing them first hand i believe they will be in the top 3 along with Guernsey and Hartley

Agree, poor comment, and that only from a visit there not directly related to a CCL game.

I turned up with my daughter for a training session at the ground a couple of Monday's ago( a week early as it transpired) and a guy from WPFC could not have been more helpful in trying to find out what was going on, calling people, inviting me into their bar etc etc.

How is having your jaw broken off the ball, part and parcel of the game ?

I suppose when the Wigan player spat at the the Wolves player yesterday that "was part and parcel"

Gutted for Andy, you wont meet a more honest hard working player in non league football.

Lets hope your player gets a few weeks out in a"part and parcel" incident !

What I meant by it is that it can and does happen in the game. It even happened yesterday in the Fulham/Spurs game when Sidwell caught Parker on the face with an arm. As I say I did not see the incident in our game so I can't comment on what exactly happened.

I too am also gutted for Andy. He is a great bloke on and off the pitch so fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
