Yes,you're right Martin, it is a good read. I often agree with Steve Cumber and find his articles thought provoking. However,I don't agree with him on some of his points today.

When Slough were first in the Conference,Alan Davis the then Slough manager took awful abuse from the crowd and at times,it was totally out of order and unneccessary. In those days we didn't have forums on computers, but surely having them now and being so popular with fans, it's far civilised to voice a gripe using a keyboard rather than the ugly.intimidating, angry abuse from the terraces of yester-year.

Steve Bateman hasn't been subjected to that, thank God and as I remarked earlier in another thread, some of the supporters views have actually galvanised the squad/management in playing better, to prove some of us fans wrong.

I also think the crowd [all 200 to 300 of us] do make a noise when needed especially in the 2nd half of games if we're attacking the covered end at our home games.Plus away from home Slough's one of the better supported teams in our division and make plenty of racket.

I do agree with Steve, though, that most of us are getting long in the tooth and we are desperate for younger supporters to take up the mantle of the chants and singing.
