HOW MUCH HARDER IS IT......

NICE GUY

Recommended Posts

We haven't heard from BBM of late I wonder why ?

Anyway, I have a question for BBM and Molly. We are now a third of the way thru the season, being promoted from Div. 1 last season, how are you finding the CCL Premier so far and what in all honesty have you found it to be ?...is it much more harder, faster, better football, more difficult, maybe easier this season ?

Interesting !

Suppose i should reply seeing you made it to me personally.

Well the main thing that there are NO easy games and we've had to fight for every single point, im going to be honest in Div 1 we could of played poorly against the lower league sides and still won the game, but in the Prem its not the case.

It is faster but we've got a young fit side so thats not been a problem (and before someone says it im not including myself in that ;) ). Better football? Well depends some teams like to move the ball around on the deck, but some might aswell not play with a midfield as they like to knock long balls all game.

But happy on how we've started in the Prem as apart from the 2nd half at Guildford we've more than held our own. Which is nice as some of our friends in Div 1 were sure we would come straight back down :)

Nice Guy, If thats a dig at not scoring goals then thats not the case. 12 goals in 17 is respectable, isnt it? The main reason for not being on here is due to being too busy with a new job.

Molly is right, there is no easy games in the prem. However i dont see there is much difference between the teams in this league to the likes of Bedfont Sports, Worcester Park, Staines, Warlingham etc in Div 1. All those teams could step up to this league and compete.

As for Farnham, I think we have used more different players so far this season then we did in the whole of last season. Once everyone is back from injury and we get a settled side playing with consistency then we have the quality and experience to win more than we lose.

By all accounts the lads were unlucky at Met Police last night in the Surrey Cup and face a tough one away at Molly's lot on Saturday.

From my experience in the prem so far as its my first season in the prem and first season at park both Molly and BBM are right.

The fitness level in the prem is much better and teams play alot more attractive football especially the teams in the top half of the table. As BBM said couple of stronger div 1 side would hold there own in the prem but same goes for the weaker sides in the prem they wouldn't find it easy to jump straight back up like Bookham are finding it.

The goalkeepers in the prem are alot better and defences are much stronger than div 1 which in most games we will find this season it will be hard to break the deadlock.

Will be another tough game sat against BBM side and hope to see you there BBM good luck for season

Molly and BBM, whats it with you guys ! I've asked a simple honest question 'cos I for one would like to hear your comments and am sure others would be interested to hear also. Why I addressed them both to you, is because you both play for newly promoted clubs to CCL Premier and you are the only guys I know that actually come on this site.

There's no personal digs at all. BBM lets be honest you have not been on this site much lately so I asked where you been thats all !

I would have asked the same question BBM even if you were a defender so chill out guys,,,,, sorry for asking, it's not a personal dig.... !

By the way thanks for replying.

I think the main difference is physical strength alot of the prem clubs players are alot more athletic.

Think the defenses are alot more solid in prem too but that's a fairly obvious statement to make.

There's nothing wrong with me, i just answered the question. Here's a question for you NG, why dont you watch some Div 1 and find out for yourself what the differences are and come back and tell me, as i would like to know what you think. Since i've been playing in CCL Div 1 has got better and better and that can only be good for the league in general.

For me it's fitness and athleticism in the Prem compared to Div 1 and like Molly said, you can't look at any fixture in the Prem thinking its a guaranteed 3 points, regardless of where they are in the table. If I'm fit for Saturday, I look forward to attempting to prevent another BBM phantom goal, like at Warlingham last season....whatever TRS's footage shows, it wasn't in ;)

Having played in both i believe there isnt too much difference between the top 6 in div 1 and the prem at all. The prem has a few more footballing sides but there are also some good sides in Div 1. Div 1 is more robust for sure and pretty much every game will be just as much a physical battle then anything else. Whoever wants it more on the day usually wins rather then anyone bar guernsey playing teams off the park!

Fair comment Molly, I have watched only a few Div. 1 games and have to admit they were awful, perhaps a bad at the office on those few occasions ? From those instances, there was very little football being played, alot of lump football, not so professional in each teams outlook, fitness was most obvious and the tactical awareness, BUT i must admit, for committment, effort and endeavour they cannot be questioned, just the skill factor was missing on occasions.

Just out of interest NG, which Div 1 trams have you seen this season?

#

Hi Daniel, only watched a couple of Guernsey matches out of interest to see how they fair and to look at a couple of players after watching them pre-season against Horley thats all I'm afraid. I have devoted and incorporated a little more time watching a few Ryman games this season as well which have suprised me !

nb: Games mentioned above, were from last season, not this season.

After playing in div 1 for farleigh for a long time and now Croydon. I agree that the top 6 clubs mayby 10 would hold there own in the prem.

I do agree it's a bit more physical and you can't afford 2 have a week link in the prem, which mayby in div 1 u could get away with.

Oh behave Smudgeyboy, don't watch any CCL football ! Why the f*ck do I bother with you, but I will 'cos I need to relieve this pain from my a*se. I didn't say ALL was lump football, I said ALOT was lump football in Div 1 in the games I saw. Did I actual say that Guernsey are not professional and are a lump footballing team ? I have only seen a few Div 1 games most from last seaon as stated above. I do believe I have read some posts that Guernsey have been lumping the ball as well playing attractive football. In future read my comments more carefully before you ever consider replying, you are just trying to pick holes, whilst I am making my opiniated observations, and if you dont like them .....so be it !

Our third season in the Prem after spending a couple of seasons in Div One. No doubt the Prem is harder, but only because you have to perform each week or you will lose. In Div One you could have off days and still get away with it. (Our players used to go out every Friday when we were Div 1. Can't do that now). That said, when we were in Div 1, the Worcester Park and Warlingham sides we played would easily hold their own up a league, standard of ground held them back. Newly promoted South Park have been as good as any side we have played this year.

I just think you should respect every team you meet, and then try to beat them regardless of who they are and what they have. I take great heart that all the "younger" sides in the CoCo seem to be the one's improving, off and on the pitch, while some of the more "established" (older) sides are treading water and living on what their predecessors' provided for them 50 years or so ago. Stand still, you'll die.
