If you have a Player sent off it is a fact the Player will be suspended 21 days after the date of the game.

You will receive the following information from your County Association:

 Letter from your County Association providing details of the charge

 Reply form

 Copy of the Match Officials report on which the charge is based

To clarify, a Player who is sent off playing for his Club on a Saturday will be suspended only from

Saturday football until the Player has served the correct amount of qualifying matches for that type of football.

A Player who is sent off on a Sunday, will be suspended only from Sunday football, therefore will be able to continue

playing for their Saturday side, whilst the suspension is being served.

A game that is classed as a ‘double header’ where teams play each other twice on the same day is classed as two

matches. A Player can therefore serve their final suspension on the first game, and be eligible to play in the second

game.

Wrongful Dismissal

(You must provide DVD/Video footage that the Match Official made a serious and obvious error in dismissing the Player

from the field of play)

A dismissal from the field of play for S6 (using offensive language and/or insulting and/or abusive language and/or

gestures) or S7 (receiving a second caution in the same match) is not within the criteria for a claim.

A Club must, within one working day of the match, notify the County Association of their intention to lodge a claim. They

must submit to the County Association a DVD/video recording, which shows the full incident leading to the dismissal of

the Player, together with written reasons for the claim of wrongful dismissal, any supporting evidence and the relevant

appeal within three working days.

Please be aware that the DVD/video must show that the Match Official made a serious and obvious error.

If a claim is successful the appeal fee will be returned and the suspension/fine will be removed from the Player’s record.

However, the details of the dismissal will remain.

Multi Player Misconduct

Any Club who has six or more individual Players cautioned or dismissed from the field of play in the same match will

be automatically fined as per the table below. Please note that the team must be playing at the level detailed below to be

subject to the fines.

For each time you have more than half of your team disciplined in a game the fine will increased based upon what the

first sanction was.

1st Occasion in Season, 2nd Occasion in Season, 3rd Occasion in a Season, 4th Occasion in a Season

Step 5 & 6 £150 £300 £450 £600

Step 7 £75 £150 £225 £300

If it's a standard charge then the ban only applies to the type of football the player was sent off for.

If it's a misconduct charge the ban is still from all football.

There's a thin line between the two.

To use the example the FA give on that document, violent conduct is a standard charge (I didn't know this when I spoke to you about it on Saturday Smudge) but violent conduct, or any other red card offence, followed by insulting an official while walking off is classed as misconduct.

My guess is that it will be the same regardless of whether premier league or local park

Think that is correct TC

If that is correct, is it fair tho' considering the money these clubs and players earn ?

Perhaps the higher the level the more severe the fine NOT the punishment, then the difference in the fine money can be given towards Grass Roots Football by the FA?.................huh chances !!!

The admin fee is the same for everyone - £10.

The amount of time spent dealing with the paperwork doesn't differ between a Premier League player and a Camberley Sunday League Division 3 player so the admin charge doesn't differ.

The only fines players get are for red cards and that's set by the FA. It's between £15 and £50 depending on the offence and then there's the £10 admin fee on top. You could argue higher payed players should pay more. In some cases they do as clubs sometimes fine their players a couple of weeks wages if they're sent off.

Neil Warnock was spitting feathers earlier this season saying he would fine one of his players as much as he could for getting sent off. I can't remember who it was.

I don't know what clubs do with the money they've fined their players - at our level it usually put towards the end of season beano. I'm sure I read somewhere that one top club passes their internal fine money onto a local charity though.

The FA and Premier League provide tens of millions of pounds a year to grassroots football via the Football Foundation and other stuff. Just ask Eversley. We should be thankful they give out as much as they do. Even if a red card had a fine of £1000 for a Premier League player it wouldn't raise that much. 64 reds in the top division last year = £64000. Naff all split between the thousands of clubs around the country.
