Red Insure Cup v Chesham United

A good chance for some players to come into the team tonight and show what they can do - I'd love to see Aaron Eales and Sam Bateman start, maybe with a more experienced head alongside them in midfield. Looks like Chris Herron has been laid low with a bug though and will miss out.

DJZ said on Saturday that he should be starting tonight before he heads off on World Cup qualifier duty.

Will be interesting to see who gets a game tonight as Bateman said he was hoping to give the whole squad some gametime between Saturday and tonight.

Strange game where we seemed to play better with ten men. Didn't create much in the first half and rode our luck with Chesham having quite a few good chances. Wasn't in a good position to see Martin's red card tackle but it looked like a lunge from the other end of the pitch. Second half we came out better and created a few decent chances and got the equaliser as a result, then went straight up the other end and conceded the penalty. After that neither team created much with the extra man meaning we found it hard to hold the ball. Much better in the second half than the first.

B&C Yes meaningless cup but had to be played, Poor performance i dont think so, played with 10 men against a team from a higher league. Could have taken it to extra time ( thank god we didn;t ).

Lots of cards ? ---- 2 yellow cards :- Sincs now on 2 and Swifty on 3

1 red card Adam (ample cover in midfield)

I can't see much impact on the league there

I think in the first half we looked extremely poor and unbothered and should have been at least 3 goals down.

In the second half however, I think we were by far the better team, and should have won. We seemed to play much better with ten men.

I do fell that when it comes to us needing to score goals, we look more than a little short up front, and thus don't look capable of breaching defences.

I'd agree with that as there are times where I wonder where the goals will come from when we really need them, but so far have found a way. There have been a number of games of this season and the last two where we do not test the keeper anywhere near enough, if at all, but if we can do that and still be top, I'm all for it!
