DICK OF THE WEEK

A new award for the weeks biggest Dick, and while some of you may be expecting another nominee, this person beats him into second place

This weeks Dick of the Week goes to Lewes Manager Steve King (similar name to that other numpty at Blackburn) whose comments after the game yesterday show that perhaps he is not cut out for football management and if i was Lewes i would seriously consider getting a new manager as he clearly knows nothing about the game!

"They are two of the softest penalties i've seen in my life.We got beaten by an average side who are top of the league.

They're not better than us but we've seen two horrendous decisions today that have gone against us"

Soft penalties, yes they were soft, your defence were soft in giving them away, once our player turns and gets tripped up by your so called defender, then there is only one outcome,a penalty, perhaps if your wonderful number 11,the show pony who done fck all all afternoon could get anywhere near the box then you may of got a penalty or a sniff at goal, the boy is simply pony and not cut out for non league football. Also football is a game of defence and attack and our defence didn't give you a sniff all day whereas we could of had 7 or 8 due to our fast attacking and your poor defence. So if you want to make it in the world of football management matey its not just about standing on the sidelines looking all "villa boas" in your dapper clother but defending sometimes helps.

As i say,DICK OF THE WEEK is you Mr King, average sides DO NOT go to a title rival and win 4-0,average sides get beaten 4-0 at home to title rivals, just a little lesson to you.

Get the feeling King isn' particularly well liked in non league football. Has a habit of shooting his mouth off apparently.

Taken from someone from their forum with a bit more common sense then their manager:-

Steve King was quoted in the NLP as saying "we got beaten today by an average side who are top of the league".

Why do managers make such ridiculous comments?

There is a reason why teams are top of the table after 12 games, in their case they have scored 30 goals compared to our 17. Whilst we may not have deserved a 0-4 result I always find it silly when managers do the sour grapes routine.

Fair play,I get the feeling that a couple more loses and he may be under quite a bit of pressure from the fans.

I went on their forum yesterday and most of them were adamant 4-0 was harsh but to be honest they couldn't get the ball off us second half, upto half time it was pretty even chance wise but we had more possession and always looked to create, whereas they were more looking not to concede.

I said if touhy got decent service he would score 25-30 league goals this season and if he did that then we would go close, also smith should score bundles which will help, hopefully hunt and Curley will chip in with a few as well

Lewes were poor. No way could they justify at least a point. They rarely created a shot on goal.

Played some decent football at times but lacked any real penetration.
