First Home League Game.

Ok now we have the stadium in some semblance of order it seems appropriate to start a topic regarding the first game. Soham Town Rangers on 26th November seems the logical choice although i hear whispers that people are trying to get the Ware game next Sat on at a stadium without a bar or proper catering facilities. I urge these people to stop and think for a moment. We have a chance of getting a potential bumper crowd for our first game with neutrals, ground hoppers and various others coming to watch. They will not be impressed or want to come again if we give them a shoddy half arsed experience. Let's get everything up and running and then we'll have a ground to be proud of and maybe gain some new fans. Yes it means another game at Cheshunt but the takings on the 26th could easily offset that.

Come on you Towners we've waited this long another few weeks won't hurt us.

I've noticed many shops in Enfield Town with the poster "We Love Enfield" following the riots to show support for the community. I wonder if we managed to get posters printed to advertise & promote our 1st home game @ QE, just how many would be as forthcoming to show support for the boroughs senior football club?

First and foremost what I am and everyone else will be good at it making suggestions and having idea's. Which is ok and very positive. However, our army of volunteers are going to need support and assistance in delivering these idea's. Therefore we should put ourselves forward and offer what time you can afford to give in helping out

My view is that the now defunct EFC played a huge part with football in Enfield, the publicity it brought, the FA Cup runs, Trophy finals and league wins etc etc. I'm 46 and like everyone else remember those days very well.

I think we need to communicate with local clubs and leagues promoting our opener whenever it may be. The likes of Winchmore Hill, Norsemen Broomfield, Southgate Olympic etc will be having home kick offs at 12.30-1pm due to the clocks going back leaving hords of football players being temted at attending a piece of history come our 3pm ko. Invite local youth club's with good awareness with good headlines in local press.

I think we could get a 4 figure opening attendance on the reasons given above and agree with the above views that all facilities should be ready before we get into action at the QE.

Exciting times and well done to Steve and the boys on the 3pts today UP THE TOWN>

At the end of the day, we have all waited 10 years for the momentous day when we play our first game at our new ground.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, Committee, get it right.

Get everything 100% before we play our first game and get a good crowd. If we are not 100% expect a large majority of those attending to give a repeat attendance a BIG miss.

We can expect a bumper crowd, IF we advertize and get everything right on the day.

Do not rush. Take time and prepare !! PLEASE.

Now that's an interesting fixture list for the opening of the new ground.
