I ventured down to the local corner shop earlier for a packet of grouts and in the corner of my eye i spotted the Romford Recorder,so i picked it up and had a sneaky look at the back page.

We get a mention on there this week but about two thirds down an article about Romford.

The back page was dominated by Ice Hockey this week to be honest.

So i put it down and left the shop with only my grouts.

Anyway,i had to pop to another shop just after and i thought i would give them the benefit of the doubt so i bought a copy,only because i started thinking that the Romford Raiders,were probably the best Supported Sporting side in the borough,i believe they get a few hundred to their games,so you could argue that they deserve to be on the front page,especially as there is a local derby for them this week.

We get a decent Write up inside and on the back page it is about Romford,who have a home tie in the ESL cup against Braintree tuesday so fair enough.We don't have a home game so i suppose an away game isn't too important to many readers,will keep an eye on the Recorder the next few weeks though to see what kind of exposure we get compared to Romford Fc

I think the Romford Recorder has been around for long enough to understand what its loyal readers are really interested in, and thats why its such an institution in Havering.

Maybe,but these will be worrying times for the likes of papers like the recorder with on line technology.I actually think that the recorder will end up as one paper covering ilford,barking,dagenham & Romford and surrounding areas rather than being split into two as it is now.If that happens then clubs like Hornchurch & Romford get even less exposure
