1-1 Hanwell Town v Berkhamsted :D

Today felt like a win thats how bad our season has been. They scored with around 10 mins to play and then we scored with around 5 mins left we deserved the draw today. Our Goalie K.Jimmy was superb today and our goal scorer D.Worman took his goal well and J.Spence worked very hard upfront today.

Welldone to all the Hanwell team today.

Cheers SBee, think we've finally turned a corner and got a group of comitted players who really want to play for the club. Despite the loss of Blaise (and possibly Sean) we've had some real good youngsters come in notably Dean Worman, Dan Clerkin & Rob Blennerhassett. The atmospheres much better & we hope to build on the well earned point and start working our way up the table.

PS. Kieran was quality between the sticks. Great to have him back!!

Blaise O'Brien gone? Big loss based on his goals last year, where has gone too? bet there were a few willing takers

HANWELL HITMAN CALLS IT A DAY

Struggling Hanwell Town suffered a real blow when their prolific goalscorer Blaise O’Brien announced his retirement last week. Fittingly, his last game was against Hillingdon Boro, one of his former clubs. Thirty one year old O’Brien gave an indication of things to come when he scored twice in the three games that he played for the club in the 2001/02 season. He joined the club on a permanent basis at the start of the 2008-09 season, during which he scored 31 goals, which included two hat tricks. A similar pattern followed in the 2009-10 season with 37 goals. He got another hat trick and also scored four goals in one game. Last season, 2010-11, he was the leading scorer in the Premier Division with 36 goals with yet another hat trick and another four goal haul. In his career with the club he scored 112 goals in 165 appearances. Blaise has been a terrific club man during his time with the club, having turned down several offers from other clubs with financial inducements to remain with Hanwell. Blaise also topped the Premier Division scoring charts in 2004/05 with 34 goals for Hillingdon Boro.

Yes i herd he could return to playing football if he misses it dont know if he would return to Hanwell Town though . He didnt look like he was enjoying his football this season but i still think he would have got at least 15 goals for us this season.

Thats good to hear Mr top scorer Spence ;)

Regarding S.Lucien who i think is a very good player when he feels like it. It would not be a great loss to the club if he stops playing for us to me he looks like he doesnt really want to play for Hanwell Town and is just waiting until something better comes along which is a shame because on his day he is a match winner.

Premier Division

Haringey Borough 1 AFC Dunstable 2

After 2 pretty poor performances, it was great to see AFC get back to winning ways against a strong Haringey side.

1st half strike from Graeme Buchanan and a brave header from Danny Ryan 6 minutes from time secured all 3 points.

First season in the Premier is a real leveler

Reports from both Club's website's:

http://www.afcdunstable.com/news.php?team_id=9&n_id=199

mmmm strange report on Haringey site. The game had did not have many chances for either side, so saying should have been out of sight by half time seems unfair.

Highfive - Yes it's strange as John Bacon who writes the Haringey Borough reports is the most unbiased person on the planet unless he meant AFC Dunstable should have been out of sight

Highfive – What do you make of AFC Dunstable’s yo yo form this season, they started like a house on fire didn’t they with three impressive away wins but ever since then it has been win one week and lose the next with only two draws all season, there’s no consistency to their play

Division One

3-0 London Colney v Kentish Town

39

An interesting report on this one from another’s Forum, I thought London Colney did hot food such as burgers and hot dogs in the small kitchen next to the bar within the Clubhouse:

Saturday 29th October 2011 @3pm

Spartan South Midlands League Division One

London Colney v Kentish Town 3-0

Admission: £5 with 8 page programme

Attendance: 39

Coffee: 75p

With domestic duties running late, it had to be a quick drive around the M25 to Cotlandswick to see the division leaders. I found the ground behind the local Rugby pitch and clubhouse and parked in the Rugby car park and walked up the track as parking is in fairly short supply, even with a low attendance. The track goes alongside the touchline where the dugouts are and the club building and car park is behind the top goal line. The only seated cover is had in the stand on the opposite touchline to the dugouts and although only 4 rows deep, is quite long, seating around 150, A small piece of standing cover is adjacent to the main stand and is where the 10 Kentish Town supporters stood. There was no hot food available so the dozen £1 rolls made by the barman went very quickly.

The game was a comfortable victory for Colney, with a hat trick from no9 which came about in an almost identical way. A long ball hit forward and the central defender mistiming the bounce on both occasions with the alert striker hitting early shots past the keeper. His third in the second half was the pick of the bunch as he shot low on the half volley. The regulars bemoaned the fact that was another match ball they have to pay out for. Should they try and swap in for the punctured ball from last weeks game. It was his 2nd hat trick of the season apparently. The other incidents of note was a clash of heads in the first half, when the away player came off worse and the game was interrupted for over ten minutes before the player was allowed off the pitch. An ambulance trundled along 30 minutes later and the player I was told had concussion. Another Kentish Town player was sent off for 2 yellow cards, but the game was clean, despite the 2 incidents. Although low in support, and lacking food, the welcome was friendly and good conversation with the regulars.

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the club had a staff shortage or possible other problems. The poster on the TK forum made no mention if he was told why there was no hot food available. So let's not jump to conclusions, oh wait a minute its you and your famous for doing that.

Rhodes - I think its just finding our feet in our first season in the Premier. After the two defeats against St Margaretsbury and Hertford Town, I thought we would not win again, such were the poor performances. The aim at the start of the season was to consolidate and stay up. As the team is pretty young, I think after going 5 games unbeaten, they thought the Premier was not that tough, but then it comes and bites you on the backside.
