Footage of Enfield FC from 1993 and 1988 >>>

First one is from 1993 when Molesey beat Enfield 5-0 in the Diadora League Cup semi-final

And the second one is Barrow v Enfield in 1988 which finished 1-1, it only shows the Barrow equalising goal, but still shows how massive both clubs were once upon a time.

Both clips are quite poor quality (especially the Barrow one) but will hopefully bring back a few memories for some of you.

Excellent, brings back some memories. Thanks Robson, if you or anyone else have any to share that would be great for more trips down memory lane.

I was trying to work out what the team was for the Molesey game. I know with those competitions we used to mix the team up a bit and my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

I recognised Mark Keen (cant really miss him to be fair) Mark Kane, think Paul Turner & Marc Salmon were in there to but that's as far as I got. Anyone care to help with the rest of the team?

The Barrow game actually finished 2-1 to Enfield. It was an FA Trophy semi-final first leg, with Barrow winning the second leg 1-0. Enfield eventually reached Wembley with a second replay win. The Barrow support was among the most unpleasant I have ever encountered!

The clip of the Barrow game brought back many memories. It was an all ticket match but as an Enfield supporter exiled in Cheshire it wasn’t easy for me to get tickets from Enfield. However a colleague at work was a native of Barrow and he obtained 2 tickets for my son and I from a contact in Barrow. Of course I hadn’t thought this through properly. Whilst all the other Enfield supporters were in one end of the main stand (the only place they could be segregated) we were on the packed terraces opposite surrounded by home supporters. Our initial reactions when the Es took the lead drew some rather hostile glares and we thereafter stayed rather muted and subdued even when Enfield regained the lead. The official attendance was 6,002 - we were the 2 and it felt like we were the only 2 Es supporters.

The Barrow goal was a stunning strike (nine times out of ten he would have hit the corner flag or found row z) although he was given an awful lot of space to run onto the ball unchallenged. A Barrow supporter just behind us was almost lost for words; almost but not quite. His actual response was “what a fxxxxxxg goal” which he continued to repeat every few seconds for the next 20 minutes or so.

We were relieved to sneak out at the end and saved our celebrations until we had safely got back to the car. The only times I felt more uneasy at an Es match were at Ilkeston in 1983 and, for quite different reasons, Highgate in 1967. The moment when you realise that you are standing on temporary terracing constructed from metal scaffolding poles in a violent thunderstorm is not one I would like to relive.
