It's not sour grapes

Would you have still reacted in the same way had you won the game last night

Craig, that lad Anthony was mustard, look sharp given it was his first outing for you and was unlucky with that effort he had that came back off the crossbar.

And you're right, had Macca played how long would he have lasted.....

Have to say one of the cleanest games I've seen in a while, maybe one booking was warranted but the rest, oh well as long as the Ref got home by 10 or Mummy wouldn't allow him out again.

It appears that the Official in charge of proceedings at Sharpenhoe Road last night was a Mr Tom Cartwright from Welwyn Garden City, he has been on the SSML 'payroll' for a while now and I've never heard any previous complaints about his ability

Crawley Green 1-0 Ampthill.

Bad defensive error proved to be the only goal of what was a good, clean contest.

However the Ref and 2 Assistants I'm afraid were the worst I've ever come across, to the point I'm lead to believe had even members of Crawley Green apologising.

He produced a straight red and 5 bookings to Ampthill, nothing to Crawley Green, but there wasn't a single bad challenge throughout the game.

The Ref even admitted at half time that the red card wasn't a goalscoring opportunity and couldn't answer his decision why given when asked.

It's not sour grapes as we gifted them the goal and hold our hands up to that, but to witness officials tonight at this standard officiate in the

way they did was an embarrassment.

I'm afraid more bad news for the Club.

That will cost them at least £150 for Multi Player Misconduct.

Who gives a f**k what you have or haven't heard, what do all complaints have to come thro you?

Maybe if you got off of your fat a**e and actually went and watched some games then your opinion would be justified.

He may have had some good games but for this there last night we know what WE SAW, not sat behind a pc ASSUMING

And PTG....yes it's unfortunate that we will be hit with the fine.

I've been on here before praising officials as without them we'd b stuffed, there are some very good one's out there, there are some who will have the odd bad game, that's accepted.

But last night I'm sorry to say this Ref, and his 2 assistants for all to see are what let the good one's down.

Only say it as it was seen, unlike some who sit behind a pc assuming !!!

And before people ASSUME CB has a witch hunt against officials let me say this, if they do wrong he let's them know.

His teams are strong and competitive, yes sometimes some challenges are worth a caution but his teams are not dirty.

Last night I saw probably one tackle that warranted a card.....and no I am not being biais in that statement.

Were not quite on Sky Sports radar yet Loose haha.....no we don't.

Listen it may sound like sour grapes because we lost but read prior posts regarding this topic, it's not.

Just airing a view on what we saw last night, other than it was actually a good game but unfortunately spoilt by some incompetent decision making.

There is no appeal on this.

If six or more individual Players pick up a card in a game the fine kicks in.

Won't be long though RoR lol.

No, you just mentioned an appeal but I had thought that the only way of bringing an appeal was with the use of video evidence.

Not unknown for non league teams to film their games, it doesn't have to be expensive.

PS. This does seem to be becoming a major issue for Ampthill. Anyone would think the league and officials had maybe decided to focus their attentions on you for some reason. I know that couldn't be the case even given some strong comments made on here recently with regard standards...er...what AM I saying...?

I always respect the opinion of people who attend the games. If you say the match officials did not have a good game then I am in no position to argue with you.

Video evidence can be used in an appeal against red cards.

No appeal against Multi Player Misconduct.

Video evidence is all that can be used in appeal, isn't it?

We tried a couple of seasons back and were told that we had to produce video evidence.

Even the top class officials occasionally get things wrong (as is always highlighted by various sorts of media) yet somehow you rarely see the media highlighting a good display from the officials.

Unfortunately at our level we don't have that sort of media coverage therefore we have to put up with it unless we ALL do something about it and take action by reporting bad officials (and not giving them the basic mark of 51 to avoid writing reports).

The latter is something that I am honest enough and ashamed to admit but am guilty of this season but in my defence I am unable to watch these games and have to rely of fellow club officials supplying me with the marks before submitting my referee's match reports.

That said its normally a case of my fellow club officials marking low when the game has been lost. This surely cannot be a perfect solution, but what is the answer?

Maybe the league can appoint one of their league committee to cover each Premier and Division One match (sorry to Division Two and the reserve sections but the committee only has around 30 plus committee members) to access and mark officials fairly.

We can't play the game without officials and it is a sad case of fewer new people taking up the whistle these days.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Yes, that is correct, however it's possible that video can be useful evidence of other things too.

On red cards, yes.

This season, the practice is right across the board from the FA Premier League all the way down to Sunday parks football.
