Me and the Ladies

Recommended Posts

I went to watch my first ETFC Ladies game last night, versus Ipswich.

For those of you who have not yet seen a women's game, or harbour some old prejudices, I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed the match. The teams were well coached and there were good skills and some lovely flowing moves. Our (if I may use the word) first goal by 17 was brilliant, as sweet a left foot chip over the keeper as you will ever see. A defensive, err, misunderstanding led to an equaliser being given away a few minutes from the end, but a lovely ball from 15 sent the sub 8 away down the right, she put in a wicked low cross and a forward's (Kelly?) shot could only be lashed into her own net by a defender.

Great stuff, and I believe these were the Ladies' first points of the season, so well done and I take some credit for it!

I won't be able to make many Sunday games but I certainly intend to be there again for Thursday nights. It's good value for £2 including programme, why not come along? It's all ETFC you know, they wear the same famous white shirt!

it was the number 11 who opened the scoring Jenna Schillaci and the second goal was Emma Kayser`s pass to Siobhan O`Neill and Kelly Townshend who shot. The next home game is thursday 23/10/03 against local rivals Barnet, who as a bonus last night we sent bottom of the table.Glad you enjoyed it and please spread the word as everybody is more than welcom to give us there £2 a time.season tickets are only £20.Try some away games as well.details behind the town flag at mens games.
