Windsor v Mole Valley SCR

Spital Rover

Recommended Posts

Today was just not going to be for Windsor, enough said.

Worst moment of the game for me was late into the firts half when It was sad to see any sportsman taken off the pitch on a stretcher, and then to be driven away in a Ambulance is even worse, is there any news on the Mole Valley player who left the ground like this today, best wishes to him on a speedy recovery.

Great to see the flodlights on for the full duration of the match. Roll on Monday night..

Agreed on all points.

Despite rarely being as pleasing on the eye as a surprisingly impressive Mole Valley, we could / should have won the game by a clear margin, having numerous opportunities to score. It just was one of those days. Move on.

One additional comment - it is on days like these, when things just aren't quite happening, that the team really needs the support of the fans - I find it pretty disappointing the amount of stick being dished out to the players by various sections of the crowd. It's actually a bit embarrassing at times.

I was surprised by the quality of Mole Valley (especially their two centre halves), but if we seriously want to challenge in this league we need to be beating the bottom team at home.

I think with the exception of Ryan O'Tool (who created most of the chances for himself and others) and Rob who pulled off a couple of good save, we very poor today. The defence was all over the place and could have easily conceded more goals; the midfield seemed to lose the ability to pass the ball and I feel better “team” won on the day.

We also seem to lack any options on the bench to change a game; which doesn’t bode well when some players are having a poor game, like today.

My other concern is with Joe as captain in Ryan absence. When we conceded the goal there was a lot of chatter between the team and Joe just stayed out on the wing, looking at the grass. I like Joe as a hard working winger who will run himself into the ground for the team, but doesn’t seem to be able to lead or inspire the team on the pitch.

Rother I assume you comments about the fans is referring to those behind the goal in the 2nd half. These people have supported the football team in Windsor for numerous years and may not share your opinion that everything is rosy at the club. If they choose to voice their opinions and they are not offensive, then that is their choice and the performance today would upset the most loyal of fans.

I don’t think the comments I heard from the fans today embarrassing, but the Windsor performance was.

I have not questioned their right to express opinions, merely mentioned that I find it disappointing to hear a stream of negativity from certain sections of the crowd (not just behind the goal as it happens) when things aren't going well.

One day heroes, the next villains. I just find that whole thing utterly bizarre about football supporters. Always have done, always will I guess.

It was not a good day on the pitch, and I don't doubt that everyone involved will agree with that but, despite not playing at all well, we still created enough chances to have buried them.

Does the length of support given and apparent discontent at the way the club is being run (which seems to be what you are suggesting) provide a valid excuse for dishing out stick to players?

Oh well, we all see things differently and that's all for the good I suppose. For me, I just found today frustrating, but certainly not annoying. Same with the Flackwell Heath game a few of weeks ago. Footballers are not machines and, as I said after that game, unless I detect a lack of effort, which I have not seen for a moment this season, my support will remain completely undimmed, however poorly we might play on occasion.

I really did used to think that was what being a match day supporter was all about.

We lack strength in depth and as has already been noted we also lack the ability to change the game from the bench. In fairness to Keith and Jim a number of players who would have bolstered the squad have not joined as they wanted compensating for dropping down a division. Keith and Jim will only bring in players who join for the right reasons, for which they should be applauded. We will find out much more about the character of this team after yesterday's performance than we did after Banstead.

I think the better team on the day won to be fair! Mole Valley should be given credit for their performance today! Windsor were shocking today for large parts of the game the midfield might just as well stayed at home as the ball was lumped from one end of the pitch to the other! And Ryan O'Toole might have a bit of quality but he needs to learn he has got other players on his side around him. He just tries to do too much! Here's hoping for a much improved performance on Monday!

Bad day at the office. Credit to Mole Valley SCR for changing their formation and making it extremely difficult for us. I expect to see a positive reaction from the team tomorrow night as they will be determined to right a few wrongs. Hopefully, the Mole Valley #9 will make a speedy recovery.

I agree with previous posts regarding Mole Valley. They were actually quite good and looked much more of a team then Chessington and Banstead.

I also think Saturday higlights our poor defending.... I know its been mentioned, but we looked so slow and Im sure Guildford and Horley will be looking forward to playing against us over the next few weeks.

I also think that (within reason) fans have every right to have a moan about poor performance, they pay thier money, and when you watch such bad performances I think its justified.

Indeed Mole Valley were a credit to themselves. Not sure how they are bottom of the table as we've play much worse teams so far.

I fear our Achilles heal is our lack of pace at the back. We look really susceptible to the simple ball over the top. I know people keep coming up with statistics to try to prove we are a good side defensively but I prefer to use my own 2 eyes and they tell a different story to the "statistics". It has to be said we always look much more comfortable when Kyle Anthony plays at the back but alas when that happens we then don't have anybody to partner Ashe in midfield.

If rumours are to be believed that we have a pretty decent playing budget then I'm afraid its inevitable people are going to vent some frustration when we get beat by a team with little or no budget. That's the way things are it happens at all levels of the game.

Yesterdays attendance 169?!! Some of them must have been hiding behind the stand!!!

As you probably know, I was on the turnstiles on Saturday. If anything, the number should have been higher to take into account all of the season ticket holders that we have.
