Monday 24th October: Windsor v Camberley Town

Recommended Posts

Just to make it abundantly clear to everyone...

This game is free admssion to all

Anyone thinking of coming should arrive early as car parking outside Stag Meadow has been disrupted by work taking place. Also, the Local Authority strictly enforce the Residents Parking Scheme. Those of you using Sat Nav, ensure that you enter a number higher than 300 otherwise you will end up a mile or so away.

We hope to see as many faces as possible.

Likewise, I'm there tomorrow also Newby, as I was for the original fixture, this time Prog Ed please make sure you've got enough coins to keep the light meter running....lol !

On a serious note Prog Ed, it appears to be a good time to be playing Camberley as their recent results would suggest.

Could be very interesting ............

Sending off was right... Camberley played most of the football even with 10 men and could have gone in 2 up at half time. Second half good goal from wide ... 1st time Windsor got the ball out wide and a defo pen.... Keeper maybe a bit lucky not to see red aswell ... not even a card. Camberley are a good footballing side and with 11 men who knows. I would say tho I am not sure about the intent but it was a red card... The 11 looked a decent player aswell so it must have hurt Cambo to lose him.

Enjoyed my nite and interesting to see Mr Day and Mr Cooper in attendance...

Didn't see the actual challenge myself as I'd just walked into the bar but speaking to Camberley fans, neutrals and Windsor fans during the rest of the game and I didn't find anyone else who thought it was a red. Andy, our web fella, found one bloke who agreed with the ref though. Maybe that was Weebs or maybe there was a silent majority there who thought the red was deserved?

What I did see was the Windsor player acting like he had a broken leg and then miraculously running around 20 seconds later after the magic sponge. Still, it worked as the ref fell for it. I notice he didn't get the card out straight away though. It was as if he was waiting to see how badly the player was hurt before deciding on the punishment. I'm pretty certain that's not how it should be done.

The ref also missed the Windsor 2's elbows and he missed Mep's shirt being pulled in the box when he could have been in during the first half. When asked if he'd seen it the ref threatened to send Meps off.

For me the ref ruined what could have been an interesting game. If we had 11 on the pitch it could have been a completely different outcome.

It's refs like that that have made me almost give up on CCL football. Worst thing is I've known him for years and he's a good lad but my heart sank when I saw him warming up before the game. I just don't think he's good enough for this level.

And there's no point putting in a report as whoever looks at these things ignores what's written and concentrates on spelling mistakes. Old school tie and all that. I've had enough of it.

On a positive note - I was pleased with the way we played but we were never going to win once we were down to 10.

The ex Carshalton keeper? He is better than guy I saw Saturday at Walton by a mile. Also probably better than Lovett. Also heard Saturday that Glen Stanley has gone to Badshot Lea always impressed me when watching him at Godalming.

Played against Dorking SF, alongside Pomroy.

There was some amusement amongst a couple of Godalming fans at the Badshot Lea game regarding Walton & Hersham's plight, what with them at the bottom and Godalming on the fringe of the play-offs!

I have to agree with VPTCFC here. I was there as a neutral. Although I thought the first half awful (I watch Scarborough Athletic in the same step and would have fancied my lads against either team), the sending off was an injustice in my honest opinion.

I generally keep quiet as a neutral but I offered the ref and the number 7 some feedback. I didn't find the challenge two footed or raised and definitely not malicious. The players and the number 7 rolling around got the lad sent off. He made a remarkable recovery in record time. So sad to see players at a generally honest level imitate the cheats on Match of the Day.

It was a good second half. Windsor could quiet easily have scored more, but Camberley played better football.

Full credit to however tends the Stag Meadow pitch. It was like a snooker table.
