Well done to Biggleswade United, Hanwell Town, Haringey Borough, Hillingdon Borough, Hoddesdon Town, Oxhey Jets and Winslow United on their FA Vase victories today whilst Ampthill Town get a second bite of the cherry following their well earned draw this afternoon.

Also well done to Hadley last night.

Ampthill 1-0 Barkingside.

Thoroughly deserved result, although we left it until the last minute to do 'em....sweet effort from Macca.

Basildon United away in the next round.

  • 3 weeks later...

I won't start a new thread now our interest in the FA Cup is over for another year but here is the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round draw which includes Luton v Hendon and Kettering Town v Southend Manor, has the Fourth Qualifying Round draw always been regionalised:

I see that Hanworth Villa, who I believe are playing in the FA Cup for the first time this season, go to AFC Totton if they can overcome Slough Town in tomorrow's replay. The Rebels noses seem to have been put out of joint by the Villians following Saturday's surprise 2-2 draw at Holloways Park:

has the Fourth Qualifying Round draw always been regionalised:

All qualifying draws of the competition are regionalised, the open draw begins with the competition proper.

Fancy someone of your vast knowledge of the game not knowing that.

The 4th qualifying round has not always been regionalised

Our last 3 4th rd qualifying ties have been against paulton rvrs, team bath and weymouth

Teams are split into North and South for regionalisation

The draw

The draw for each of the "proper" rounds is not seeded and is broadcast live on television, usually taking place at the conclusion of live coverage of one of the games of the previous round. No teams are seeded in the qualifying round draws either, but the teams are grouped geographically in the qualifying rounds to reduce travel costs. Public interest is particularly high during the draw for the third round, which is where the top-ranked teams are added to the draw. Traditionally, the draw has been conducted by means of balls drawn from a purple velvet bag, however in recent years in order to comply with FIFA regulations[citation needed] the balls have been drawn from a clear perspex container. To keep with tradition, however, the presenters are shown emptying the balls from the old velvet bag into the perspex container before the draw.
