Absolutely gutted.

First half was fine, a goal up and playing quite well. Second half was as bad as I have seen this season. We couldn't tackle, pass, hold the ball or move around at all and it cost us severely.

Good luck to Hanworth, that last night was banter and their support was very impressive. Decent team they have there too, they knew exactly how to get past us in that second half.

You can see by the quotes on Twitter that the players know that it all went horribly wrong last night. Charlie's one the pick of the bunch, we all know which team wanted it more out there last night.

Bring on Saturday and the league, let's go for promotion!

Rooster - absolutely spot on post. It's an endless debate on here about getting behind your team. I rushed from work, spent a lot of cash, froze my [censored] off and am still totally gutted. As i'm sure are all our supporters, players and management team, who as you point out, put in a lot of hard work for not much, if any, financial reward. Think it's good to wait till the morning to post about a game anyway after things have cooled down in our heads (not capable of typing usually Saturday after a game anyway). Just wished i had a cat to kick last night!

What you lot have done on and off the field is fantastic, and when Hanworth scored, the crowd really kicked in and lifted your team while we collapsed. The support was friendly and the shed banter good, but i was pleased to see Saturdays problems acknowledged in the programme notes “Some of our support could be construed as unsavoury, there was certaintly some unnecessary bad language and remarks…support your team, respect your opponents.” You need to tackle that head on at Totton, but good luck and hope you get Brentford in the first round!

OK.... So.....

Hanworth fans fair play, I (like a number of our fans) was at a wedding on saturday so havent commented on the goings on. On Tuesday they were a credit to their team, and in turn the team were a credit to the fans. 1st half Slough were by far the better of the two sides and could have gone in 2 or 3 up. Hanworth absolutely dominated the 2nd half and could easily have won by 4 or 5. I have no idea what happened to STFC in the second half but the amount Hanworth improved was echoed by the amount we collapsed. The result could have been a lot worse for Slough if Hanworth had converted the goal line scramble and Byrne had been sent off (i feel a yellow was lucky)

We need to stop being a one half team, it seems we cannot play consistently for 90 minutes at the moment and its killing us. I'm not going to slag off anyone as i feel that the Squad we have st a quality one and Bateman has done well to assemble it. Warrington is a top keeper, our centre backs are solid and our full backs get up and down the pitch very well. Sinclair is a good a crosser as anyone at this level, Coyne and Martin control possession well and swift and byrne have great vision and can turn a game. Burnell and Sonner are top strikers (although Burnell has been a little off form recently) and MPI and Abbey are good replacements.

I have absolutely no idea why we fold for a bit in every game. At 1-0 and cruising i was saying we need 3 before half time or we would lose and unfortunately that turned out to be true.

If we cont find consistency soon i fear we will be an upper mid table team at best, which with the quality we have in our ranks can only be seen as a below-par season.

As for Hanworth, for a Combined Counties team they have great support a good little set up and a decent team, good luck to em they thoproughly deserve their game V totton and i hope they do well.

I am so dejected by this, nevermind!!! Just looking at this, on Saturday I just think changing things around a bit wouldn't hurt, maybe go back to 3-5-2, with Warrington, Brown NBH Woozely, Sinclair Coyne Logie Swift Murphy, Mpi Sonner/Abbey!!! I know I may get slaughtered for suggesting this but I'm just so disappointed with the 2nd half performance!!!

Hanworth Villa deserve to go through!!!

After reading all the previous posts and threads and giving my opinion right at the beginning my conclusion is that over 180 minutes your club can have no complaints at all. Hanworth matched you in every department and once you were matched it was about who wanted it more and there was absolutely no contest there. The 'shed' definitely helped as well! Great support as usual!

I noticed how you were claiming how much of a shocking performance it was from your lads in the second half but let me tell you this, that first half performance was one of the worst 45mins Hanworth have played all season and i'm sure the players and management will agree with that. I think some of this was down to us changing system to a 4-4-2 from the start which I believe was to try and minimise the threat of your number 7 - Sinclair - who is a very good player. Once we switched back to 3-5-2 we looked a lot more comfortable and there were signs towards the end of the first half that we were coming back into it.

But all in all Villa-la-la-la-la-la-la-laaaa had the heart and the balls to come out in that second half and flip that game on its head, thats the sign of a good side. Anyone watching that second half would have been asking if you really are flying high in the league above us!

Anyway the game is done, and as you all said before it, the best team was the victor. Good luck to you for the rest of the season and I'm sure we will follow your progress closely and I'm sure one day soon we will meet again.

Oh before I go, the reason i quoted the above post is because it really does show what cookham rebel knows about football! Even your own fans think your a numpty and that post really does prove it! Your forward Burnell is a pest, a defenders nightmare, his movement is top notch and along with Sinclair, the best player you have! And you wouldn't even play him in your next game? Have you seen his goal record? You really are something else! Mpi came on in both games and looked nowhere near the quality of Burnell! You do nothing but slate your manager and he did nothing wrong over 180 minutes, he picked your best side and you were beaten, accept it, move on and wash the s**t out of your eyes! Glad your not a Villa fan!

I went to the game as a neutral and was really impressed. For a start, only a fiver to get in, bargain. And a good programme at £1.50. Was greeted by a very friendly springer spaniel shortly after getting into the ground!

As for the game, I though Hanworth edged it up until Slough scored, then it was all Slough and the Rebels could and should have had more. But once Hanworth levelled, there was only going to be one winner in terms of how the game went.

The Villa fans were excellent, both in voice and in number, didn't hear much from the Slough fans but then I did watch it from behind the goal at which Hanworth were shooting, so the opposite end to the Slough fans

Well done to Hanworth Villa. I will admit to being really impressed and surprised with a lot of things last night - the setup, the team and the attendance amongst them. I thought it was great to see such a large crowd of locals (many of them young) get behind the team. This is something we can't boast at the moment being stuck out in Beaconsfield - the move to the new ground can't come soon enough. How many times can we say we've visited a ground which was full to capacity? Hugely impressive for a Combined Counties league club.

The Hanworth support was very vocal and I can now see why they don't switch ends! Dare I say the support seemed a lot less alcohol-fuelled than Saturday, and overall the atmosphere was great (particularly once the equaliser had gone in, the place was a bit flat before then) and yes, the reception was welcoming. It wasn't much fun for us though! Clearly the club is up and coming and will be going places in the near future, and I wish them well. A lot of their players could play higher up, I'm sure.

There are always 'turning points' in games and for me there were two over the two games - Levi King's free kick at Holloways Park being the first. Before this, I thought Slough looked in command and would go on to win the tie, but in the end we were a little lucky to get the replay.

Last night, the turning point seemed to be the half-time team talks! I'm sure the Villa manager got his team fired up. Not sure what happened with Slough's. Certainly after the equaliser, which was a sloppy one, there was only one winner. You've got to respect the heart of the Hanworth players, and they deserved what they got. Hugely disappointing but that's what the FA Cup can do for you.

The one thing I will say is that I wish we'd get into the habit of killing teams off - we could have won the first tie with chances in the first half, and again last night we had the chances to take a bigger lead into half time, but didn't, with inevitable consequences. As others have said, we seem to be a 45-minute team and a little low on confidence. I also thought Hanworth played us very well last night, and pretty much marked Chris Herron and Steve Sinclair out of the game, cutting off all the supply in the second half.

I wish Hanworth all the best against Totton and hope they enjoy the adventure. I'm sure it'll be another great day out but hope Totton are well prepared - I seem to remember a few 'characters' the last time we went there!

As for us, let's remember we're in a great position in the league. Now we're out of both of the major cup competitions, there is only one main focus now, and that can only be a good thing for us.
