18th october midweek games

Mewey,Referee's like players have regular traits, many are cool calm and collected, like Hilary Achenui, and John Ryan have been recently at Croydon Arena. They were in total control of their actions and decisions,a calm chat here,a card there, when they thought it was needed. No hysterics like Mr. F. Collins in the game at Ash,shouting at and thrusting cards in players faces.Which in my opinion loses any Respect that they had for him,now I was not at South Park last night,so do not know if it was the same Referee

Well the ref at park last night was certainly shouting in people faces especially the skippers for both side and his overall attitude was disgusting which losses respect in my view!!

The appointed Referee for this game according to the League Official Website was Mr F Collins.

Thanks to those who have taken the time to reply. It's appreciated.

I should stress that I don't want anyone to get in trouble! There are guidelines from the FA regarding the use of 'social media sites' (which would include forums) and I am bound by those too. I have colleagues who have received a warning email from the FA for comments they have made, and these comments were pretty minor.

milesy4, interesting, I wonder what game / level that was?

I would always recommend that if a team is unhappy with the conduct of a referee, they should put in a report. Obviously, if an assessor was there, their report goes through the official channels automatically anyway. Between all of that, a full picture of the match should emerge...

From a personal point of view, I always start any match with the point of view that everyone there is a good lad and there to play football. I'll happily talk to players and enjoy doing so, and I don't need to lecture players about what is and what isn't acceptable: Everyone knows it already!

Thought Wembley maybe edged it, but didnt think it was the best of nights for the officials. No point going on about it as officials who write on this forum jump on you usually for criticising them, so il just leave it there. Getting a little fed up with 'respect' being banded about the game between players and officials and it only ever seems to be one way. As BAWA said though, take nothing away from Wembley, they worked hard and probably deserved the win. Had our pen gone in, could have been a different game. On to the Vase on Saturday.

the problem with this post Milesy, if I may say so without players having a go at me, is that you state it only ever seems to be one way when you have had a problem with one referee. I was there Saturday and the referee appeared to me to give players plenty of respect which for, 5 to 10 minutes, after our goal was not reciprocated by South Park and esp one gentleman on the bench who really should have been dismissed. Please do not tar the majority of the refs because you have a bad experience.

What i did like about your post though was the fact you didnt base your opinion on a biased view of a decision but rather the attitude of the said ref.

Surrey senior cup for chertsey ressies plus 1 or 2 1st teamers.

JJ the 1st team didn't fancy the Spectrum then eh ?.........very wise ........lol !!!

Surrey Senior Cup not big enough Cup for Chertsey then ?

Think JJ is getting excuses in early in case they get beat by the lower ranked team NG <_<

Good point Krooner. Having played CCL for 3 years, I guess it's a case for me personally of experienced some good refs and some bad ones, but I think the main point was how little respect for players some refs have in the way they officiate and speak to them, when players are expected to be respectful back, otherwise you are cautioned.

Re Saturday, agree, chap on the side did go a little ott and may well have been sent off by another ref, however the one on Saturday chose a different approach and I think considered the fact it could well have been a penalty, but he couldn't see for sure, therefore didn't give it.

Fair point though, Krooner.. Happy to tell all when I've had a good ref officiate too. Barring a controversial red card, best one so far for me has been Mr Kitchen, SP v Badshot Lea.

Won't be having a nibble but our reserves are in the capital league and they don't play many games and they're all on a Wednesday. We have an fa trophy match Saturday so an ideal chance to play the reserves tonight. Only 1st team players playing tonight are Pagey cos he's suspended Saturday and the right back.

Currently 1-1
