Hertfordshire FA Intermediate Cup - 2011/2012

Recommended Posts

I don't think we have to provide a figure to the league so its difficult to say or know what others get on a regular basis. We often used to get around 30-40 at Tring on an average Saturday not seen a game this season so not sure these days. Obviously more for games against Leverstock Green, Berko or Leighton Town especially if games don't clash with the respective first teams. Think we had about 70 for a Levy game a couple of years ago. Have played in front of single figures at some grounds though and all of those have travelled with us!

Never seen a Capital League game so can't comment there

Yeah I would agree Tringarmy, last team I played against from that league was Chesh reserves (when they were in it) over ten years ago mind and there was 100+.

I've played a few Capital league games and would say the standard was pretty good, probably towards the higher end of Div 1 (Which I would say is mid table Prem!!)

Great Result for Bishop's Stortford Swifts! Step 8 (if it went down that far) against a top Step 6 side.

HERTS INTERMEDIATE CUP Semi Finals

Both sides of the story, it sounds like St Albans City Reserves took Bishop's Stortford Swifts lightly thinking they only needed to turn up at Hadham Road to reach the Final:

Amazing how I didn't get that impression from reading either of those reports....

Clearly St Albans weren't expecting to be kicked off the park and it was naive of the Manager to play such a young team

If you bothered to read through all the St Albans City Reserve reports since the previous managers left to join Hadley and took a lot of the players you would find that they field a majority young side in all matches.

Karen – Yes but the point I was trying to make was why not ask the First Team Manager for two or three fringe players who weren’t going to make the First Team squad for the trip to Frome Town, it was a Cup Semi Final afterall

Because in order to play in a semi-final of a County Cup competition the Club has to submit a list of players seven days prior to the tie and therefore at such time did the first team manager know what his squad for Frome would have been?

First team players can represent the same club in a lower competition (unless cup-tied) however they must not have played more than 20 first team games.

Okay, fair enough but then the St Albans City Reserve team Manager should have included some First Team players that would be unlikely to make the trip to Frome on Saturday, if he had done his homework he might have realised that Bishop's Stortford Swifts wouldn't just tamely lay down and roll over as St Margaretsbury Reserves found

I have no idea why you are not a manager Rhodes because you appear to have all the answers.
