There were actually three quarter final ties played yesterday afternoon Rhodes

The Leverstock Green tie wasn't on Football Mitoo or on the thread you created for yesterday's fixtures and results

They're managed by ex-Stortford player Micky Nunn. They're not the force they used to be but still have some decent players. Look out for striker Ricci Montebello. Knows where the goal is & is quick. Should be playing higher. I tried to get him over Stansted earlier this year.

What's the deal with him? Is he just happy playing for them?

That is because we play in the Suburban League so would not be on the SSML Mitoo. Suburban league is of an higher standard than the SSML reserve league.

Belstone are second in the Herts Senior league division 1 and it was a very tight game. They scored a very good goal and that was the difference although we hit the bar twice.

Monkeymonkey8 to be fair to u I dont no ever I was over there watching for the first 65 min and couldn't believe u were 1-0 down they play some nice stuff out the back but didn't really look like scoring then they pop up with a flook! Cross from what 40 yards that some how goes over ur 6 foot+ keeper then left as I was going to watch the team we were playing next sat i looked in.the non league and see it finished 3-0 what happened

Yeah hard one to take to be honest!

We have had a keeper crisis in the last 2 weeks and i think it showed! As they say mistakes cost games, no disrespect to BSS but every other team we played to get to the 1/8 final were better than them. Just a shame but this is football.

Good luck to them and the lad up front who scored the third...cheeky sod but great goal.

We are in the North Division and there are two divisions above us in the Suburban league and we have to play reserve teams from more senior clubs. When we played in the SSML reserve league we were always winners, runners up and always in the top 4. In the Suburban league are in the bottom half and with a stronger team that use to play in the SSML res division.

Also other local teams Tring, Berko, Hemel reserves all play in this league due to its strength. Last season we played Chesham Res who now play in Div 1.

I make you right Uncle T, Suburban is a stronger league than SSML reserve.

Saying that we beat Whitwell (herts county 1) in this cup 2-1 and they havent lost in the league all season!

Surbuban league has always been strong certainly stronger than SSML reserve most of the sides would hold their own in SSML div 1 and dare I say one or two would do ok in Prem

We moved to the Suburban for similar reason & because the gap between first team & the reserve level in SSML was growing too much to help movement of players between the teams. Having played in pretty much all the divisions over the last 4 years (SSML Prem, One & Two, Reserve 1 & 2 & Suburban) I'd liken the Suburban much to our Divsion 1.

As you can see from this link most are the reserve sides of Step 4 teams or above. Over a couple of seasons I played at Southern Premier & Conference South grounds which beats the hell out of some of the facilities in the SSML

The only real downside for me was the travelling and ocassionally coming up against a midweek team full of first teamers on contracts & former pros. Would have loved to have got AFC Wimbledon, Woking or Sutton Utd in the League Cup, but it never happened when I was there

To be fair though what isn't and it can't be that much fun to play in front of one man and his dog every week, what sort of crowds to the Surburban League get out of interest

I don't think we have to provide a figure to the league so its difficult to say or know what others get on a regular basis. We often used to get around 30-40 at Tring on an average Saturday not seen a game this season so not sure these days. Obviously more for games against Leverstock Green, Berko or Leighton Town especially if games don't clash with the respective first teams. Think we had about 70 for a Levy game a couple of years ago. Have played in front of single figures at some grounds though and all of those have travelled with us!

Never seen a Capital League game so can't comment there
