Dave & Angela Dawes

Recommended Posts

Forget the disfunctional Weirs who scooped 161m on the Euro Millions lottery back in July, Dave and Angela Dawes beat them by a mile and will be a throwback to 1961 and the infamous 'spend, spend, spend' Littlewoods Pools winner Viv Nicholson. It would appear that Angela Dawes disowned her son Steven Leeman, now 17, following the breakup of her marriage to John Leeming in 2006 and leaving him with 20k of debt as well as reneging on a £30 a week Child Support Agency agreement to support a heartbroken Steven who was then 12 years old and is still living with devoted Father John. Angela has not spoken to Steven in two years despite them both living in Wisbech, a stones throw from each other, the last time Steven saw him Mother was in Asda's six weeks ago when she walked past him with her trolley without uttering a word. Incredibly the CSA have recently sent an investigation pack to John Leeman wanting him to prove that Angela is living beyond the means of somebody who says they have no income which says it all really about the not fit for purpose organisation, she was supposed to pay £30 a week for Steven's care but has not paid a penny in over four years. These are the people who have recently won 101m and who celebrated this week by shopping in New Bond Street, they revealed plans to buy a home in Portugal and a house in Chelsea within walking distance of Stamford Bridge as Dave Dawes is an avid Chelsea fan, surely there should be a cap on lottery jackpots after these recent wins by the totally undeserving Weirs and Dawes.

Not going to comment on their personal lives as its not my concern and I'm really not interested. If they pay their money they have as much right to win the jackpot as anybody else. What a winner then does with it is upto them, good luck to them.

good luck to them

LATO - I really can't believe you said, sorry, typed that, we're talking about a woman who has totally ignored her own son for the past five years and even though she is now worth 101m it's looking unlikely that she will willingly give him a penny piece. Hopefully the CSA will now be able to take her to the cleaners but I'm not holding my breath.

Quite right :)

In any case I suspect the son refused to speak to his mother - it is very common.

If she had no income of her own there is little the CSA could have done. The child is not that of her new husband and in any event he is 17 - probably not at school, so he should be out working.

This is a typical case of sour grapes and I hope the ex-husband and son rot away until they apologise for selling a story that probably had very little truth in it. But I suspect the son and ex-husband are lazy and she was well rid of them both.

Shame on Rhodes for being gullible enough to fall for such trash.

You must have a heart of stone Ralph, and I am definitely in wholehearted agreement with Rhodes on this one.

IMO its crazy that anyone can win over 100million pounds in a lottery, and the winners should be more widely spread with a maximum prize of one million pounds.

Missunderstood - What do you expect, he's a Wealdstone fan, look what they did to Ruislip Manor!

I am not disagreeing about the prize money at all. But would people still play if the amount was capped lower?

What I am not infavour of is beleiving people who sell their lies and half-truths to newspapers and then others fall for this nonsense.

I am quite sure that she fully intended to see her son right (as they are giving most of it away), but I would not blame her now if she left her son out until the future. Let him sweat for a year or three.

RalphC – All you are doing is digging a hole for yourself and should be through to Australia by the end of today at the rate you’re going

As it happens, this topic of conversation was being discussed in my Dorking local when I popped in with some visiting Guernsey supporters.

The general consenus of opinion wasn't over the lurid details of who had done what to whom, or vice versa, but over the strange way the tabloids just HAVE to start digging the dirt on anybody in the headlines, just to sell news-papers !

If you want to believe everything you read in the newspapers that is your choice.

As somone with a bit more intelligence I take it all with a pinch of salt.

Next you will tell me that 9/11 was not an inside job! ;)
