Ok ok we were pretty dire in the second half but to be fair to the guys in blue we totally slaughtered them in the first 60 minutes. They were and will be whippin boys in the Conf South cos if thats the standard then bring it on cos we were by far the better team by a country mile. Stroll on fellas even "THEIR" supporters were saying they were crap..... time to lick our wounds and get on with our season.. :)

Good first half, played some good stuff at times. Yet again, only half as threatening without Kwesi though. We looked so comfortable for the majority of the game, until an absolutely shocking piece of defending / keeping (difficult to tell who was at fault from the Coffin End). Then the confidence completely drained out of the team, and the writing was on the wall. Very hard to take, especially against such a dire team.

Bitterly disappointed. It is scant consolation that Bromley fans acknowledge they were lucky to get through. Bottom line is we lost to a poor side today even though they are a league higher and once again pressed the self destruct button and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Until we cut out these stupid defensive lapses we will continue to lose games we should be winning. Yes we played some great attacking football but only for the first 45 minutes again. We have to keep going for 90 minutes. We allowed them so much possession second half it was inevitable they would eventually get back in the game. We seemed to tire badly towards the end - maybe some fitness issues there? Kwesi was superb and his pace scared the life out of them but once he was gone we had no potent threat up front. Bodkin is class too but we still seem to be lacking the necessary defensive cover in midfield. What is it with Hartsdown this season - i've never known us lose so many home games so early on?

Not there-so can't comment specifically-but it reads to me that the telling factor was the injury to cloke (coupled wiith beale apparently not being too well/fit ).

I reckon cloke is both a good player and a good captain.

Thus a re-shuffle-and as above totally agree about midfield-so Corneille moves out of midfield-and leaves us short there.

Too many unenforced changes for such a big match-and in the end-could not quite cope with the changes.

All a bit unfortunate.

Thats my interpretation from 220 miles away.

At saturday lunch time-i would have taken 2 wins out of the 3 consecutive cup games-priority FA cup-but if thats not to be-lets still be in 3 cup competitions by the end of the month-so i think tuesday is a must win game (we can and should win the league cup which would make life fun in the dull january and feb months ) and lets progress a few rounds in the trophy.

It would be more disappointing for me to lose either of those games-than yesterday-as those are should win games-which need to be turned into have won games.

Up the 'Gate

(i assume Johnson was cup tied ?)

With that in mind-i'm surprisingly not too disappointed

Hiya guys & gals from extremely hot Tenerife. Am real gutted that we couldnt do the job yesterday & progress further.Sounds like we were again the better team but once again fail to last see out the full 90 minutes. Am really really gutted. That was our cup run this season, I truly believed that. Anyways all the best to you all & see you all soon.Hope the team got what I´m getting. A real big roasting.

They did not need roasting Cookie. Devasted more like. The whole afternoon hinged on one bad calling error form the goalie or a poor header back from Dean. Take your pick.

We relly did play for 90 mins I assure you but a bit of luck went against us. A soft penalty followed immediately by a non penalty for us from a deliberate push in the box. Sam Sodge's at Dover v Orient was a much softer touch than yesterday but because the ref was literally about to blow for time he did not want any more hastle.

I have to say that I have found some of these refereeing decissions confusing over the last few years. I am not a qualified referee, just a fan, but in the past two or three seasons I have seen one of our players, Kenny Pratt I think it was, get booked for doing little more than glancing menacingly at a goalkeeper, and a free kick given to a goalkeeper when he dropped the ball from a cross with no-one close to him. I think it was Kwesi Appiah who went down in the box recently when the goalkeeper dived at his feet and Kwesi got booked for diving, yesterday's Bromley penalty (even their website thought it was arguable) and then ours at the end.

The number of times recently I have seen pushes in the back, and how about these throw ins when the run to release the ball starts from where the throw should actually be taken thereby nicking an extra few yards.

Like I say, I am not a referee and I have no doubt that supporters from both sides can say the same for every game.

Very frustrating.

Fair enough but the fact still remains & despite a great 70 minutes or so (from what I have read) we still managed to lose the game.Great credit for those 70 minutes of good play but we are still losing these games where we seemingly are streets ahead of the opposition. 20 minutes of mishaps & perhaps naivety can spolil 70 minutes of magnificence & sheer genius, sadly.
