Looking forward to the game tomorrow.

Coming down by train and hoping to get to a pub for Liverpool v Man Utd game first.

If not, see you in the clubhouse.

If you’re travelling into Windsor Riverside the pub opposite the station "Royal Oak" will have the game on. The pub nearest to the ground "Duke of York" should also have the game on. It’s a couple of minutes’ walk from the ground.

Alas the clubhouse doesn’t have sky.

Hardly surprising when Sky would want to charge £700 per month for the privilege. I know the Squirrels Bar in North Street will show it but it will be packed with Man Utd plastics.

Not a great game but ultimately a deserved 3 points.

If the penalty had been converted it might have been a different story. (That seemed a really bizarre decision. Was there anybody in the ground (apart from the ref) who thought Tilbury had fouled their guy?)

Very good to see Ryan and Yash developing their partnership. They seem to me to be gelling a little bit more every game. (Big beaming hug after the 1st goal was a good sign - as is 12 goals in the last 4 games between them of course!)

dire game but a welcome 3 points.

the same problem as ever though, i read in the paper that scott thinks we don't have defensive issues yet we still are not tight at the back. had colliers wood been able to shoot straight they had the chances, including the penalty (i hate to say it but tilbs is a liability) to score 4 or 5 in the first half. how their striker missed after taking it round rob when he was on the floor is beyond me! if we concede so many chances to supposed weaker sides in the league whats gonna happen when pacy wingers and pacy forwards from the better sides go up against us! we looked a lot more solid in the second half when kyle slotted at centre back though.

two nice finishes from ryan and some comedy goalkeeping for the second, as he stood there, didnt move, shouted wide, and then watched it go in, all very entertaining!!

There's always room for improvement but the problems at the back are not as bad as you make out.

Best 3 defences in the league...

Guildford have conceded 14 goals in 13 games - 1.07 goals per game.

Windsor have conceded 11 goals in 10 games - 1.10 goals per game.

Hanworth have conceded 10 goals in 9 games - 1.11 goals per game.

rother, this isnt to do with how many goals we have conceded, its about how many we should have conceded had opposition players buried chances that they should be taking! personally, i don't believe we have played against any of the decent sides in this league yet, spare the 25 postponed minutes against camberly. yet we have given up so many chances in games to forward lines that are not the best! my concerns are that we can not afford to do that in the coming weeks when we play 3 of the top 4. first half saturday we were horrendous at the back in my opinion, running around like headless chickens at times, and failing to deal with simple balls down the flanks and over the top. luckily as has been pointed out the cw number 11 was more interested in hitting the deck than shooting otherwise we could have easily been in trouble. the lack of pace at the back was so evident, although we looked marginally better with kyle at centre back second half. surely there is only so much time that we can ride our luck and hope and pray that opposition strikers miss or manage to pick out robs burly frame!!

Robs burly frame lol!!! As much as Rob Bullivant has done for the club over the last few years imo he just isn't fit enough at the moment! I think Mark Banfry should be playing in goal who looks much fitter and agile! It worried me that Rob called for two balls on Saturday and then got nowhere near them and he dosn't get off the ground for crosses either he always tries to catch the ball from on the ground!

Ok, but in the real world football has never ever been about how many goals SHOULD have been scored or conceded.

You think we have a problem with our defence. Fine, it DOES look vulnerable at times. But in the CCL, by your standards, so does every other team have a problem with their defence.

read the rest of what i said as well. we havent played a decent side yet, but have managed to concede 3 to molesey, 3 to sandhurst and gifted many more chances to other teams as well. like i said my concern is that we should be trying to solidify our defence against weaker teams, sort out the issues we have and not then have to worry about sorting them out in games when the opposition are better . our defence has been suspect almost all season and as ive made very clear, my opinion is that we've been very very lucky so far!

the team that wins will be the one that concedes the fewest you're right, im not trying to go from that fact, im just concerned that the team with the best defence isnt going to be us if we continue to gift opposition players so many chances to score in games! yes on paper we currently have conceded the 2nd least in the league, but we have not played a good side yet so id say those stats are warped. in a few weeks time we'll have a better idea but i cant help but feel that sides like camberly and guildford will not be so kind on us to miss open goals and great chances as other sides have done against us this season!!

i think we lack a good old fashioned massive brute at centre back who organises everything and reads the game well. kyle and chris ellis are both young and need more guidance than what they are getting at the moment and we need a reliable right back who isnt such a liability.

Matt- you dont say which of the teams are decent, but on the basis that it would be fair to assume they would be above Windsor- I assume Guildford/Camberley/Egham/Horley?

Of theose teams-Guildford have only played Egham ( Drawn) and Camberley ( Drawn)- so not great from them- however they also drew with Wembley and Croydon. When Windsor drew at Croydon, the world had come to an end and it was stated that Guilford wouldnt make the same mistake!

Egham have played Guildford as stated, Camberley ( Egham win) and Horley (Egham Win) but lost to Badshot, Wembley, Hanworth and drew at Colliers Wood.

Horley have lost to Egham, beat Camberley but also lost to Banstead, Chessington, Molesey and drew with Farnham.

Camberley have lost to Egham, Horley and drawn with Guildford, but have also lost to Badshot, Farham and South Park.

Guildford have conceded 14, Egham 24, Horley 15, Camberley 21 and Windsor 11- all be it less games. Therefore it is also fair to say that whilst Windsor havent played the teams named above yet, nor have they lost the games that Camberley, Egham or Horley have lost to so called lesser teams. Guildford will undoubtedly be the the one to watch and may well win the league. The point is that some of these sides that could be classified as the " decent sides " have lost to Chessington/Colliers Wood/ Croydon & Molesey. Windsor havent. Look at Banstead since the 11-0. They have only lost one game and also beaten a " decent side " in Camberley! Windsor are not the finished article but can only play and beat or not lose to the the teams put in front of them, and so far with one league exception ( which was a poor, poor show) they have done so. Will it be enough- who knows- but having a moan when they were 19th- fair enough but when they are sixth some four or five weeks later- not so fair.

You might be right and we may lose to some of the decent teams that I have assumed that you refer to but in the meantime, I am sure that the club will continue to change. I mean Ellis and Jeffers came from clubs in this league, Seeds, Kemp &Hudell have gone, and who knows what work is being done on others? Have some faith that it is going the right way and the glass might just be half full.

Excellent excellent post. Saved me a job - that I wouldn't have done half as well.

Earlier posts indicated Matt made up his mind after a couple of games that the defence was a big problem and it looks like he's going to stick to that, come what may, whatever the results. ;)

I'm enjoying this season as much as I have the previous 3. Sure there are areas where we are weaker than in recent times but that's football. It's not unconditional but this is our team and they (including Tilbs) and the management deserve our support as things are definitely going in the right direction.

And to continue the positive comments......Ryan Parsons is the best left back in the league as is proved every week. Rob and Mark are two very capable keepers, Rob may not be 100% yet but he will get back to his best and that was a very good penalty save Saturday when you remember he had the sun in his eyes!

Matt makes some good points about the defence but with a developing side it will be difficult to get the same consistency that the old club had with Butler/Fagan and Clayton/Woozley. In time, we will get there.............

can i just say i'm not trying to be negative in any way, im just voicing my concerns that our defence isn't as good as people make out. i believe it is termed as constructive criticism. granted in time that view may change but i cant help but feel that we have 4 individuals still making up our back 4 rather than a group of players playing as a solid unit. i have no doubts that in the long term things will change but my concern is that things dont change if there isnt anyone that believes theres a problem, hence me voicing my concerns. recent weeks have been a vast improvement, but i still have that niggling feeling that something isnt quite right with the defence. thats my opinion. our defence has performed in games this season, against banstead, the nomads and a few other games as well, but for some reason there isnt that consistency....its solid one week, and running around looking somewhat clueless the next, i.e the first half saturday when it was all over the place, then the second half saturday when it looked as solid as ever!!

ryan parsons is the best left back in this league, i wholly agree with that, and kyle and chris are both young and talented players, fergus moore is highly experianced but lack pace now and hasnt yet been the leader i thought he would be. i know it takes time to gel but we don't seem to have that solid reliable partnership yet and the with the way keith scott manages that was one of the first areas that i thought he would address.

i'm not just picking out those top sides as being the better teams, as there are several really good players in this division, i just feel that we havent come up against a really good forward yet in my opinion.

i look forward to watching the RPV game this evening in the hope that we continue to kick on and show just what we are capable of!

Well that's a bit more positive!

But you say you're "not trying to be negative in any way" yet have earlier said the following:

"Tilbs is a liability..."

"On Saturday we were horrendous, running around like headless chickens, failing to deal with simple balls..."

I'm gonna stay out of your way when / if we get a thumping! ^_^
