Thought Belal Unpronounceable was with them last season?

Last night, watched a Tokyngton Manor striker with 28 goals this season - he didn't get a kick! Funny old world.

I dont think yesterday was a case of needing a new striker! The goalkeeper for Thamesmead was simply on fire! Yes we maybe could have done better on 1 or 2 occassions but our play yesterday was very good including our forwards IMO.

Yep, Mead keeper was man of the match, BUT, that was in a 20 min purple patch and that should not hide the fact that we struggle to score during 90 mins, whilst Mead scored 2 scappy goals.

Persisting with the 3 up front meaning a single / lone striker just ain't working.

Fairly sure this is not just my opinion.

And, at 0 - 1 and then 0 - 2 down with 2 forwards on the bench, why wait until 80 mins to make a change ?

Mead keeper had a very good game, but that should not cloud the Town shortcomings.

Such a difference from when we played there in the league (with the same scoreline), I thought we were sharp, moved the ball well and worked ourselves into good positions, although some wasteful finishing, good goalkeeping and last ditch defending saw us not score. I'm not against 3 strikers per-se, but there were too many times when one of the strikers came out wide to help to work an opening with another of the strikers, deliver the ball and us only to have the one forward left in the box. I can see why we're playing 433, as we don't really have natural wingers / wide midfielders, and we have a lot of forwards and central midfielders who in my view are good enough at this level. I don't think there's really that easy an answer, although I'm not that worried - on another day we could have played like that and scored 3 or 4.

The keeper has made 4/5 great saves, we've hit the woodwork and played IMO the best we have all season yesterday so how can you say 3 up front isnt working. It was just one of those days in front of goal. I feel more pressing issues are the fact that we are not keeping clean sheets so that when we have a day like yesterday in front of goal the least we get is a point/replay.

Good to hear that we put in a good performance, even though we lost, and created plenty of chances. As the season progresses, think it is important that we start putting away these chances in our league matches, because we not only need to win matches and get as many points as possible, but we also need to score as many goals as possible, bearing in mind that goal difference might prove critical at the end of the season. As long as we are convinced that everything will come good, we don't have a problem.
