FA Youth Cup - Final Qualifying Round

 

Chesham 0 v 3 St Albans Midweek Youth

 

The Young Saints returned to the scene of last weeks league defeat to once again play Chesham, only this time it was not league points at stake but a chance to progress further in the FA Youth Cup.

 

No team talk was needed as the motivation of the Saints players was clear to all. With a squad depleted through injuries every single player needed to be on top of his game against a very good Chesham side. After a goalless first half the Saints came out in the second period and quickly took the advantage to go one up thanks to Ollie Lowe. Further goals from Troy Peinaar and Colin Wilson (Direct from a corner) gave the saints a three nil victory. The cup draw gave the winners of this match a bye in the first round proper so the prize that awaits the Saints is, hopefully, a Nationwide league side in the second round.

Rob I think the draw has been made as the Fleet Youth are at home to Oxford in the 1st Round.

Prem clubs presumably come in at round 3 like the senior trophy.

For some strange reason Port Vale and ourselves have a bye in the 1st Round Proper and go straight into the 2nd Round Proper.
