An interesting and unusual artilce by our Club Manager.

 

Wonder what caused Steve to make such a statement ?

 

Not sure why he should have to justify his selection policy from the squad available. Perhaps we do not all agree wiht this or that particular Player being in the side, but at the end of the day, he is the Club Manager.

 

Any comments ?

i thought it was good. maybe he should be on there more and why not players aswell.........perhapes because of a certain person papa on here may have sparked it or comments he has heard because not all surportsers go on here just look at our website

I don't know Steve very well, but he always comes across as an intelligent, open, honest sort of guy. He issued this statement on the back of four straight wins. He had already confirmed in his weekly column in the Enfield Gazette that he would be making a number of changes to the team for the Walton & Hersham match, and why. Think he was simply reiterating what he had previously said, to keep everyone fully informed, rather than justify selection.

i thought it was a bit weird, he is the manager and if they are in the squad then they can play. its the same as people carping about under strength teams in the premiership. the manager should be able to play anyone in any position from his squad, no questions asked.

I think it's just good communication from himself to those who pay to travel and watch/support the first team. He is also explaining his mind set and thoughts behind the changes so as to help those not fully aware of what a managers job entails.

 

I'd say very valid a good idea and good man to man management with his squad.

I think it is good that the coach gives information to players and supporters. It keeps everyone honest. Not least the players and it bodes well for the season. The team play a multitude of games and if there are (more) players who have played to a particular system at the club the better.
