Interesting that on the Tik Tik website it states that the club is built on Christian values....

Didn't see many of those values on show tonight...

BUCKINGHAM SENIOR CHARITY CUP First Round First Leg

0-7 Winslow United v Banbury United

Ouch! we actually rested 5 for this one and gave three run outs to some young lads who have been looking good, they came over with their 1sts reported wage budget of £6K and were in no mood to take it lightly as things have not been going well in the league so their gaffer told ours they were coming here to give us both barrels. 2-0 down at half time and we competed well, ref was shocking and did whatever they told him to, we had one sent off as we seem to every time we play them with them moaning and whinging throughout, they then really showed the obvious gap and eased through. They were literally a different league but our first half showing was decent and a couple of the younger lads took their chance with both hands. 2nd game in a programme of upcoming tough fixtures. good turn out must have been close to 100 mainly Winslow, hard standing round the pitch nearly complete.

How's this for service??? All six of Royston's goals versus Hatfield Town less than two hrs after full time.

As I wrote on the cold end I reckon they played better when I last saw them against Hoddesdon in the HERTS CHARITY CUP at the beginning of August and they lost that one. Ominous for the rest of the league???

From the official Royston Town Twitter

A more than comfortable night for The Crows in a low key game they managed an impressive 6-0 win at Hatfield Town on Tuesday evening

Cliff, where were you tonight? I had it on good authority that you were coming to Lowfield? Shame, as you missed one of your ex teams being humbled. The mighty Protien had one shot all game, and that was a good 15 yards wide. Honest to god, on that showing I have no clue how he has scored so many goals so far. I've seen players from other sides look more lethal than him. Ok so it's only one game but strikers at Cranfield, St Albans and Langford have impressed me more.

Also, and I know I'm not one to speak, but he wasn't what I was expecting in terms of 'shape'. I wouldn't go as far as to use the term "portly" but definitely carrying a few pounds!! Not as many as the Tik Tok 14 though....

So cliff, ya missed a good game, and also NF was present although he didn't buy me a drink.

Tight git....

Sorry Jonno but you wait that long before getting to the bar and it's your fault! Next time.

I was impressed by some of the football played, better than the St Mags v Oxhey I saw last week. Got there for the second half as I'm a tight git and didn't want to pay to get in ;) At this point it was 1-1 and Tik Tok down to 10 men. Tik Tok then dominated possession for the next 10-15 mins but without threatening the Hoddy goal. Protien looks a decent player but was having to make his own chances as service was limited, looked decent on the ball and a bit of a handful. The two Metivier brothers both played him well.

All the decent chances came Hoddys way as they made the extra man show and a fortunate second goal which the keeper should've done better with (apparently he was at fault for the first as well). Softish header from the edge of the box took a lovely big bounce over the keeper off one of the Hoddy drainage lines, keeper had gone down far too early though.

Third was a bit of a scrambled goal after good ball into the box from a free kick on the right wasn't cleared properly.

Both teams got the ball down and played and also some tasty challenges, most enjoyable to watch. Tik Tok centre half lucky to stay on the pitch, Hoddy player caught him late and both went down and Tik Tok player then kicked out catching Hoddy player in the face. From where I was it was a yellow for Hoddy player and red for the other guy. No cards shown, just a lecture for the Hoddy player... interesting to know what the lino's input was?!?

Back in the bar we could hear the shouting in the Tik Tok changing room... (Abridged version but you get the gist)

Player - "I'm going to go and smash that number 10 up"

Response - "Don't be stupid, learn from this. We're going to come across this again"

Player - "F*ck it he's been winding me up all game and deserves a slap"

Response - "OK well if you're going to do it make sure you don't get caught ok"

MIDDLESEX SENIOR CHARITY CUP First Round

Uxbridge 3 v Hanwell Town 0

I didnt mind losing this one i hear we played a lot of our back up players last night and we rested a few of the first team regulars. We have to concentrate on the league but a run in the Vase won't do our bank balance any harm.
