Ok just signed up after reading your post smudge.. I have a question! What are your thoughts on Guernsey joining the league? Do you feel it's right that a team all the way from Guernsey gets to play in the english league pyramid? Sorry if this has already been asked, tell me to shut up if it has!

Welcome Latchmere,it was covered widely on this Forum,and I was against them Joining the C.C.L..I was in a minority though,which is not unusual on here,but I must give Guernsey praise for the way they have overcome some of the Issues I raised originally,like Parking at Horley F.C.They now pay for 6 Parking places at Gatwick Airport,concerns re extra luggage costs have been overcome,by Guernsey supplying Kit,balls,cones,Medical kit,etc.The flight,accomodation,transport,food that they arrange for visiting teams and their Hospitality have been FIRST CLASS,by what i have heard from people who have had the pleasure of going.Crowds at their away games have been good,helped I must say by some of their fixtures being the only game on that night,in C.C.L.Now for the down points,one of my original posts contained the words 'Turkeys voting for Xmas' which was aimed at C.C.L.Clubs,Guernsey F.C. are a National Side,with big financial backing,no previous history,unlike C.C.L.Clubs ,Some with over 100 years existence.The crunch for me will come,at the end of this season and the next.This year the Team that finishes 4th in Div 1,will of wished Guernsey were not here,likewise the team that finishes 2nd to them in the Premier next year will think the same.Some of those Clubs,pay their Players,so it has financial aspects.Then there is the aspect of 8 of their last 10 games are at home,No games over Xmas,having Step 4 Referees officiate at their games,it seems to me that the League,have been overly fair to them.But their here now,and I have tipped them to win everything they have entered in the C.C.L.,the only drawback I see to this is bad weather,or their desire to beat Jersey in the Muratti Cup,as I believe they have to complete their season by the End of March,so if it extends past that they will have a seriously weakened side in C.C.L.
