Is This The Death Nell For Non league Football ?

Recommended Posts

I see the woman who runs a pub beat the odds at court and she can now leagally show premiership football at 3.00pm on Saturday afternoons via a choice of foreign channels for about £42.00 a month.

When the dust settles and every struggling club and pub start to show it then attendances will start to plumitt.

if Sky loose their appeal, this could be "The end of the world as we know it"

If clubhouses show it too, there shouldn't be a problem getting punters in

(no Gary Calder rules in that case)

The Premier League by selling the rights for their matches, live are killing football at lower levels and The governing bodies are not prepared to do anything about it.Until they do or enough non league and lower league clubs come together to fight it nothing will be done.

I do think however that many outside the non league game and even some inside, don't actually realise there is a problem.

Gates aren't necessarily down, the conference gates are up but I think gates below that level are down, the traditional big clubs of non league continue to do ok but others are struggling. It's ok for some to organise national non league daybut that itself was a joke as it only benefited half the clubs,it's almost a quick way of saying "have this and make do for a while" simply not good enough
