On the 21st September you wrote the following words after the Thamesmead Town defeat -

"Yet another disappointment and our season is as good as over IMO. Dont say I didnt tell you earlier"

Take a glance at the League Table this morning and you'll see ETFC in 2nd position....granted the sides around us have games in hand but it does make good reading.

The question I wish to ask you is - Is our season still good as over or has your opinion changed just slightly??

I'm not one for chucking comments back into peoples faces as they know what they said and if they have any decency or class would be feeling somewhat embarrassed.

We must not get carried away, Steve, Jason and the team have knocked up as many points recently as injuries yet they are still getting the 3pts. So thats an extra achievement in my view.

I'm gonna sound like a right misery but the Great Wakering game is whats important and knock up 3pts there and we then look forward to the next win. One game at a time with 3pts at a time and the league table will take care of it's self.

I still think the board should now look at the league table and discuss with Steve which 2-3 players would he dearly love to have in his starting X1 because this league is for the taking.

My opinion has changed just slightly but I still dont think we will make the play offs.

Anyway, I missed the game on Monday, first one this season. I got carried away with the double header of Coronation Street and thought we were playing Tuesday.

Anyone in the Capital League team who'd be worth a tryout with the main squad?

Didn't lose on Monday and won on Tuesday. Good start to the week then.

Bryan would be an extremely useful player to bring on the younger reserve players, although i'm sure he'll move up if he is deemed better than a current first teamer.

I think a couple of youngsters show potential in having a Step 3/4 career when they are a bit older, but not just yet, they certainly could not dis-lodge any of the current first teamers. We must factor in that it is a big jump from reserves to our first team (unless you get half of Ebbsfleets first team playing Capital League matches).

There is talk of us having an U21 team participating in a Saturday league. That would be the next natural progression for the younger players. One step at a time.

As for last nights reserve cup match, we thoroughly deserved our place in the last 8, although we had a couple of scary last minute penalty claims which went for us, thank goodness.

Good thing is we are home in the last 8 to Chertsey (rather them travelling than us) and if successful home again in the Semi's to probably Wealdstone, with a potential final against either Ebbsfleet or Chelmsford (2 very strong reserve teams).

The last 8 game will be w/c 21st of november at the QE, now how does that sound.
