Some of our fans!

After tonights game, I am every dissappointed with some of our fans on the Eastside who instead of getting behind the team were kicking bottles, having fun fights and pissing about. Surely if your team is 1-0 down you get behind your team and cheer them on, instead we find some people are pissing about not caring that were behind. I realise we need all of the numbers through the gate at this moment but just would like these fans to get behind the team instead of pissing about.

may be people want to keep their language down as well and support the team more.

Frustrating game tonight, i know, but on nights like tonight, the team will want our support more than ever!!

Btw, if we get any complaints about bad language tonight from a group of guys near the directors box, thet are not part of the eastside and have never seen them before.

Have noticed the continue abuse of officials from the eastside which will not help our cause think we are using this as an excuse for our team when results don't go our way I for one would prefer to stand elsewhere at the moment and I have stood on that side for years through thick and thin

It was my first experience of the New Eastside.

Not sure why there was a need to move 20 feet towards one goal.

Just made everyone strung out over a wider area.

Didn't feel it did the atmosphere any good.

Plus when away fans come they will stand where the Eastside used to which defeats the object.

I know i'm not a regular, so this only my viewpoint.

As for the 5 guys near the Director's Box.

It was their 1st Hornchurch game.(1 was Millwall and another was Spurs)

Their language wasn't bad, just their calling Bury's number 10 a poof.

They picked on him as he was the nearest.

They thoroughly enjoyed the game and intend coming again.

They were also planning to do an away game at some stage.

I agree. Not sure what can be done either. As I've said before I tend to get ignored if I say anything.

Constant abuse towards the officials isn't going to help. If I see a bad decision, then I will voice my displeasure (as I did one one occasion last night with a farcical decision) but to keep going all the time and be abusive in the process isn't going to help. The officials are human and if I was in that situation even though I'm not supposed to, I would tend to be a bit biased towards the other side.

There needs to be a balance, if you stop it altogether then you get the situation like you did in Margate where you can hear a pin drop from the home fans as they are frightened to say anything (hence the complaints about double standards the other day).

The behaviour of our youngsters is fine. They have the freedom to move about and kick bottles if they want to, while watching the game. There is nothing wrong if they are not vocally cheering the team on much. I saw some of the fights and they were not serious so leave them to it.

The idea of standing and watching football with the freedom of moving about is one of the main reasons why I enjoy it so much. I recently went to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea and although it was thoroughly enjoyable, it wasn't something I would want to do very often because of a number of reasons, but the main one being there is very little freedom to move about. It is also much more personal; you can shake Tambeson Eyong's hand when he scores the equaliser in the FA Cup, whereas if Fernando Torres scores on the other side of the pitch and you can barely see him or the ball go in the net, then all you do is clap and then struggle to get out of the ground with many people talking about other things.

I also had a stiff back when I got home but that's beside the point :)

If you think abuse comes from the Eastside you should hear what comes from our bench on the Riverside. It does us no favoures.

I have said the same thing Uri. Contrary to popular belief the match officials are only human. The constant barrage of abuse from our bench (which is usually directed at the Riverside Lino) does not help us one bit. If the bench get on the Lino's back he may think twice before raising his flag for a penalty or similar. The officials never change their minds and no amount of swearing and abuse will ever change things. The occasional expletive during a game is understandable but not for 90 minutes! I was told that the officials are professionals and so shouldn't let abuse influence their decisions. Yeah, for us who live in the real world do you believe that ?

The eastside used to be fun,it is in essence a stand for adults, not saying kids aren't welcome,of course they are but to be honest kids that are well behaved.I don't even mind them swearing from time to time but constant abuse of officials and opposing players and the constant use of the c word towards both is quite frankly putting people off.My mum bumped into one of her mates husband in sainsburys today, she asked if he went last night, his response was "not been since the start of last season, too many feral youths standing where I like to stand"

This seems to be a recurring issue for many and while we want youngsters coming through the gate,we want some sort of order and not for their elders to constantly hear their abuse or rows with each other and I can't be bothered to police it to be honest

I know I have a swear at times which is mostly when chanting but I've not been the last couple of games so you can't be talking about me! Agree with it mainly though, even I get annoyed sometimes when people younger than me are not even watching the game then call the lino a c. But swearing happens anywhere, to say your stop supporting a club just because people swear is ludicrous. Just have a word with the culprits next game - I'm sure they'll stop

Fifty odd years ago when some of us old boys who still support Romford were kids we could reasonably be described as feral youths, but most of us grew up to be responsible adults, probably because there was always a miserable old git to put us in our place, with a clip round the ear if we took no notice. The old gits took the action they did because we was a family club and the old gits had respect for family values.

These days Mums and Dads watching non league football with their kids are as rare as hens teeth, and half the time the adults are as bad as the feral youths. Little wonder that attendances are dropping to unsustainable levels.
