Hanworth Villa at home (FA Cup Q3 draw)

They beat Aveley 1-0 in Q2 who are a level above us in Ryman Prem and Wembley (same level as Hanworth) 1-0 in Q1.

Adding more info as I find it - they are in the same league as Windsor. They are currently 8th with a record of P7, W5, L2. Other teams have played more games so if you nromalised that they're a top 3 or 4 team in that league.

Every potential opponent in this round has an element of danger to it. But we're at home again, against lower placed opposition. It's what most of us would have wanted, and represents an excellent chance of progressing further. We shouldn't fear anyone.

Without tempting fate it's the draw you'd want at this stage as you look to progress.

Well put. Its a great draw as far as I'm concerned, and gives us a very good chance of progressing (touch wood, throw salt over my shoulder etc). Its a good chance for us, lets hope it works out that we get through.

That's probably what some people thought when we were drawn against Banbury and Borehamwood.

Any nonsense talk of easy opposition and thrashings will give the oppo all the incentive that they will need to turn us over.

I'ts the FA cup, famous for upsets.

Precisely, Ian, I immediately thought of Harrogate Railway, who I think everyone underestimated and they walked away from Wexham Park with - if I remember correctly - a First Round tie against Bristol City. The Rebels can certainly win with plenty of focus. COYR!

Since I've been supporting Slough, I can name Lewes, Harrogate Railway, Wroxham (I wasn't there though) and Erith Town as experiences I'd rather not repeat!

I was at Wroxham with my lad ................. lovely place but to this day I still think of it (and Harrogate Railway) when I hear people talking about FA Cup upsets!

My recollection of Lewes, beside the huge number of goals, was Tom falling into a puddle on the beach and me getting stuck climbing over the front of the stand 8 months pregnant in the hissing rain. After all of that I didn't really care about the result. (don't think it was FA Cup anyway) but the others were gutting,

We mustn't underestimate Hanworth and on a pure coincidence basis, they are also the first team we will play in the cup that don't start with B

Lewes 3-0 Slough, I remember it too, fortunately as we drowned our sorrows in a Sussex pub, the England game was on..........wooohooo 5-1, yes THAT game v Germany!

Incidentally Lewes - rapid climb, rapid fall, now just one league above us. That goalie from Boreham Wood was in goal for Lewes if I'm correct as I saw them beat Bishops Stortford 1-0 in the revamped Dripping Pan (?) to consolidate their charge to Conference National.

Germany 1v5 England was 1st September 2001. It was the day after we moved into our current house and we'd arranged to go to the theatre in London. We came out and found out that England had won 5-1 and couldn't believe it.
