Horley Town 2 v 1 Croydon

Firstly must say that overall on 90 mins Horley deserved their victory.Take Frances Ameyaw out of the Croydon side, and it would of been a rout. But Smudge is not a happy bunny. Not because Croydon lost, but in the manner of the loss,The Referee Mr.Johnathan Creswick was a disgrace, and in my opinion should never Referee at this level again.Reason:-In the first half a Horley player uttered these words to him,FOOK OFF REF,his response a quiet chat,no card. But do not know what was in his tea at half time,as 2nd half he came out all cards blazing,8 yellows and a deserved Red.Not a bad tackle was seen all night. As one supporter said 'he is young learning his trade'well please go learn it somewhere else' by your abysmal performance Mr.Creswick you have cost 2 decent clubs £235 +plus your fee.The final nail in the coffin came, when a player lay prone on the ground for over a minute, after a head injury, did he blow his whistle NO,he took it upon himself to ignore it,was the player hurt yes,a fractured jaw no less.Did he care NO,aTOTAL DISGRACE TO REFEREES,mr creswick, please give up.

Nice to finally have a chat with smudge after the game having a beer.

I agree with your views of the game smudge, 2 of the officials were poor,1 linesman did a good job,he knows what one Im talking about.

to be fair as u said if it wasnt for your keeper and bad missed efforts from us it could of been 5 or 6 at least.

but we continued playing the football and finally got the win we deserved.

well done to croydon though, there league position doesnt reflect there performance.

good to see the players stay in the bar after game and have a good drink.

Enjoyed talking to you before and after the game.

I thought Croydon were a very hard working side. I thought your keeper and skipper were excellent on the night.

It's always tough to lose 2 goals so late in the game, but i thought our overall performance deserved 3 points. I agree with what Juppy said that the Croydon are a better side than there league position suggests.

Look forward to chatting with you in the future, and good luck to Croydon.

Bad show from the ref with th injury. Shame one of the other 21 players didnt kick it out to show him up.

Would expect no other riposte from you My Dearest Kroons,if the CROYDON 10 could of got hold of the ball, they might of.The referee saw the incident happen, from close quarters, but think he made his mind up that the Player was feigning injury.Wrongly!!!!!!! Are Referees not advised to halt a game, when a head injury occurs,or is this another case of open to interpretation.Thanfully Horley scored if my memory serves me right,so he had no other option, but attend to the matter of a prone Player,he was a disgrace to the Men in Black.Like Cigarette Packets he should have a 'This man could seriously damage your Health'WARNING ATTACHED ,suppose the player had swallowed his Tongue, would he be liable,as a paid Official for not ensuring the Players Safety. But that old Refs line, it is open to interpretation, covers many of the inadequacies they show on a regular basis.

unfortunatly Smudge you have brought your reputation as someone who doesn't know who you are talking about yourself with your lies and ill informed ramblings. Maybe if you posted facts you would be respected by all forum users

Many of the laws of the game allow a referee to exercise his / her interpretation of them, i.e. 'in the opinion of the referee.' Perhaps that is what he chose to do in this occasion. Your opinion is that he was incorrect not to stop play, his (the referee's) was that he was correct not to stop play. He might subsequently review this decision in respect of his subsequent match control but, ultimately, it's his opinion that counts whatever you might think of it.

Whether that puts you at ease or not is irrelevant to me.

However, believe it or not, and irrespective of assessor debriefs and their formal reports, most referees will do some form of self-assessment after a game, i.e. faced with a similar situation would I make the same decision again or would I act differently? Similarly, the officials might discuss incidents between themselves after the game or the referee might take advice from other referees present, etc.

Self explanatory,I would of thought,if a Player makes a mistake and is Red Carded,he faces a 3 match ban.If a Ref makes an error of Judgement which in my opinion he did,he might consult with his other Assistants, who are nowhere near the incident. What help would that be to him?
