Barkingside would have cost less in travel expenses,according to google maps ampthill to basildon 66.6 miles,133 miles round journey at £2 a mile-£266,Essex v Beds match so refs come from herts looking at at least £130,time pitch is cut and marked, food made,electric and water used looking at match costing over £450!!

But you are at home so surely you don't worry about cost of travel?

the home team has to cover the costs of the away team basically each team shares half the losses on the match,ideal situation for us is to draw this match then win replay,meaning then that travel costs are neutralised.

Come on Rich is not really a bad draw.Another Spartan Div 1 side like Bedford with the only difference Bedford are bottom while Ampthill are 5th.Could have been worse ie away to third in the Spartan Premier and 2 1/2 hours on the coach.Cheer up and count the blessings.It's sunny out there.

I agree with et64. Basil-don should be happy his team are in the competition. People as miserable as this don;t deserve a successful football team.

for the third round in succession we face a Bedfordshire step six team,at least Wootton Blue Cross presented us with a rather nice pennant,i wouldnt mind having some pennants made myself but im still counting the cost of ordering 80 enamel badges most of which ive given away, i have 26 left but im currently £54-50 out of pocket.
