Starting a vocal supporters group?

90mins of chanting, getting behind the team, maybe a drum, creating new chants and bring a bit more colour to the ground with flags, banners etc...

This is just something me and a friend were talking about the other night, he attends game regulary and i am starting to attend game regulary. What do you think of the idea of starting a vocal supporters group?

When i attended Watford games, there was a group form ed The Yellow Order (TYO) and they have invested and change atmosphere at vicarage road, with just 60-80 of them starting the chants, it created a big difference. so i have a bit of experience from this group as i was there from day one to this current date.

I and my friend will be happily willing to invest into creating the group. What are your opinions towards this? and is it a bit optimistic for a non league team such as ourselves?

Thank you for your time.

I'm not sure you quite grasp non-league football.

I seem to remember you going on about a drum last season and the consensus was no.

You also say you don't attend many games I think if you can regularly you would hear chanting and see flags. Maybe you missed the giant flag that takes over most grounds...

not from some of the suggestions he made in the thread earlier in the year, when he was asking about how much swearing was acceptable!!

Certainly don't think additional voices to the ever dwindling vocal support would go amiss and would encourage people to join in. Certainly need more variance on chance, more people starting them, more people joining in and certainly more frequency. Particularly at the clubhouse end with the cover.

And yes, I may even return to joining in myself.

Thats correct, i'm not very good when it comes to non-league, i don't attend many games so i don't really know how it works, but thank you for your comment, and this goes to everyone. yeah thought i'd give the drum ago last season, just that i saw a lot of non league teams starting supporters groups such as york and wimbledon.

I saw a giant flag and a few smaller flags at the banbury game i think, or maybe it was another game. Also one more question, i presume you attend many games, out of 10 what would you rate our fans in our league? are we good and loud compared to others?

yeah honestly i look back now and i made a total fool out of myself, i didn't realise how much chants can upset people and i total embarrassed myself during that game and even on this forum. I appologise again but i do now know the level of chanting and abuse i should expect at non-league level. Yet again sorry if i offended you or upset you during that game.

Adil come along Saturday and let us all get behind the team. BFR was in fine voice at the Hitchin play off game, we outsang the home support despite getting thrashed. Let's hope he can get a babysitter for Saturday. I might even have a few drinks to help lossen the vocal chords.

will do, might come alone as i'm still looking for a mate to tag along, so i might be the guy in the corner on my own lol.

It was be awesome if we got the "I just can't enough" a lot of fans are singing at the mo:

When I see you Slough Town, I go out of my head, I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough...

All the things you do to me and all the things you said, I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough...

We slip and slide and we fall in love and I just can't seem to get enough of doo doo do do do doo doo!
