Just spent a pleasent few minutes chatting to one of my help desk ladies (from Kent) and joking the way you do I asked the question "so other than escaped hop pickers what does Gravesend have to offer"

I have to say the list was far from appealing

Some of the items for instance

1. black death graveyards

2. the burial grave of the American Indian woman Pokerhunter or similar

3. Bluewater

She is in a corner attempting to expand the list but it is not looking good

We also had the first ever Tesco's, someone told me, but that's not quite so impressive. Especially as it's always full of mongs.

Well my old student guide from Oaklands said that it was St. Albans that had the most pubs, so I'm going with that.

Tonight canterbury tales is set in gravesend.....and that reminds me that Dot Cotten once lived in Gravesend on Eastenders...
