Can we (Hornchurch FC) ever win the Premiership?

Don't laugh or say I'm mad, think about it first.

Look how well some of the smaller teams have done in the last 10 years, Wimbledon, Norwich and now your likes of Wigan and possibly Rushden rising through the divisions.

We have plenty of cash and time is on our side.

I'm not talking about in the next year or so but maybe in 10 years time if we've still got money ploughed into the club, could we be up there challenging the big boys?

Everyone at the club is ambitious, no one more so than me, I say the Sky's the limit, if we all support one another who knows, but let's enjoy it like we have these past few years.

If you don't set your sights high it's not worth the effort so come on let's see yer!!

your only half right there Tom G...the council aint interested in the stadium...they never have been...they divert the sport funding to health and safety issues...

such as helicopters landing...

anyway...we will always have to go it alone...good luck to the Daggers and yes they do get good support from their local town hall...

but we'll get there never fear....the urchin legend is growing all the time....

No one will ever do a Wimbledon again, For instance where would say circa £250 million come from for a stadium that could sustain premier league football and crowds of no less than 45,000 per home game, if you are to build a programme for a new ground then building for 20/25,000 simply is not enough (and probably £250m may not be enough?)

Where is this ground to be? where is the transport infrastructure? where are the approved permitions?

Bryco seem nice lads but not in the really big money league such as the Walkers etc who have thrown in millions and hardly achieved premier status after ten years ( from league div 2)I.E. they only had to climb two divisions, they already had the ground the transport infrastructure and some of the players, Now they fight relegation and could or probably will end up back in division one

Enjoy the Ryman and when your turn comes enjoy the Conference and just maybe you could see a local derby against Orient before your children achieve adulthood

[color:"blue"]If you find out who those residents are that made the complaints, could it not be arranged to fly the chopper from a great hight dropping illuminous green paint on their roofs or make counter complaints about their wild swingers parties that they have from time to time ? [/color]

can't question pabirds logic but I believe that the premier league can be reached without spending 250 million...as to sustaining a place in that division...unlikely given the funding now being utilised for success at the very top levels...

a stadium could be built for 30 million to sustain a challenge for the premier..that would house 35000 but of course even if full it wouldn't foot the bill without outside investment...

Bryco has reversed itself into Coldseal and is now the 2nd largest window replacement company in europe....they have switched their sponsorship to Slough and Yeading but in any event the original investment into HFC is nowhere near high enough to sustain anything but perhaps 3rd division ...

the size of the original funding was set at rebuilding the stadium.to a satisfactory level...building a new 6000 seater in year 5 and also getting into and sustaining conference fcotie in year 5 also...and we'll be quite happy with that if we make it.......if we do it this year...year 3...it will be a remarkable achievement...

but lets not put to much pressure on ourselves...

methinks its Canveys turn this year and us following...but...footie is a funny old game and if they open the door...we'll nip through it...just like urchins always do....
