Flackwell Heath v Windsor - Who's going...

Don't Blame Me

Recommended Posts

First half was pretty even but they still looked a lot more composed overall and took their goals well. Saying that, was that the same guy who scored your goal that scored a similar one in the last round? If so, maybe he should play upfront more often!

That would be Kyle Anthony who did indeed score our third against Nomads. Considering that there were so many players missing / playing with injuries / out of position, I don't think that it was that bad a performance. And congrats to FHFC for having 2 real ales on sale in their very pleasant clubhouse. Top marks as well to the burger and chips!!!

Bitterly, bitterly disappointing Flackwell no longer served tea in proper mugs! I have to disagree with some of the comments above I thought flackwell fully deserved their win. Their reaction as they entered their dressing room said it all they won a tough looking fixture in a national cup competition. I thought we were beaten before we started today people were complaining about the pitch, the slope of the pitch, injuries, the paper said we were down to bare bones it was as if the players took all of that on to the pitch. I was disappointed their wasn't an "over our dead bodies" attitude and drive on the pitch. I thought we lacked a leader on the pitch today a Dave Woozley type to lift the team. I was thoroughly disappointed on exiting the ground. But as I said the other day football is all about opinions! Here's hoping Monday is a different story.

They were better than us but we had young players, players playing out of position and we had as many goal scoring chances as they did.

I think people were expecting too much of that team.

Me, I'm still just happy I can go and watch a Windsor team play every week and am content / confident that a fully fit squad would probably have got a result against the Hellenic League leaders.

I don't get the despondency at all, but then I'm a glass half full kind of guy!!

having had plenty of time to ponder yesterdays game, i too fall into the category of being bitterly disappointed. flackwell thoroughly deserved to win the game, outplaying us in every area of the pitch which personally was maybe the biggest disappointment. all i heard in the build up was excuses, much like geggy says, almost as though defeat was accepted before the game began.as for having so many players out, i thought the whole purpose was for the manager to put together a squad rather than just a starting 11. that said however, i thought about it and asides from ryan ashe, porter and possibly fergus moore (2 of which were on the bench), i couldnt think of another player that was missing yesterday that would have warrented a starting position. bully- starter, tilbury- starter, anthony-starter, ellis- starter, bartlett- possible starter, parsons- starter, chandiram- starter, gibson- non starter, hatcher- starter, o toole- starter, romeo-starter. by my reckoning thats 9 first choice players that featured yesterday and a very very poor performance. so it isnt really an excuse to say that sooo many players were out. also rother, please tell me who played out of position yesterday asides from possibly gibson because i dont know where he really plays?? i thought everyone else was in their natural positions?

granted, we had 2 chances point blank that should of been taken, but again, as in recent games, they were not and windsor were punished accordingly. guilt edged chances like that just have to be taken, its as simple as that. its interesting that in the 30 seconds of decent football that windsor played yesterday they scored. that fact however should not be allowed to gloss over what is a terrible performance against a side that windsor should be beating. flackwell are a good side, but with what was promised at the start of the season the squad we have should be good enough to beat sides like them. il cast minds back to the start of the season and i quote "the squad that is put together will be more than capable of holding its own in the league above" and on yesterdays showing there is no way that is true. i believe the club and management have created these problems by setting the bar too high and creating these expectations. had these expectations not been put in place and over-exaggerated at the start of the season i would have been perfectly happy to accept a mid table mediocrity finish, but with the way the club has gone about things i expect a lot more than what ive seen so far this season.

i'm not a fan of slating players but yesterday flackwell wanted it more and we looked resigned to defeat. i dont want to travel to games that i expect a result in and see my team role over and under perform like what occured yesterday. il support a side as long as the determination and effort is there, but i was majorly dissappointed yesterday because for whatever reason the players didnt look like they wanted it. i cant help but feel as well that a manager should support his players from the side lines, rather than slate them for doing something wrong. theres nothing wrong with advice and encouragement but negativity from the bench makes its way on to the pitch sooner than later.

i hope that monday sees a much improved performance but in all honesty i cant see whats going to change between yesterday and tomorrow. i sign this off a very very disappointed windsor supporter right now. it's fair to say im fed up of hearing excuses before a ball has even been kicked.

I have to agree with most of what Matt said above but I do not agree that I thought this was a game we should have won. Flackwell are a decent side and they are not top of the Helleinc League for nothing.

I would like to know who the 8 missing players were and if they would have made a difference to the squad yesterday. The only player that stood out for me yesterday was Joe Chandiram. He took players on and looked like he wanted to push forward the rest just didn't look interested.

Why would we also play players with injuries surely they would not be up to the game and cause themself more mischief for the future games. I would rather see a fully fit youth player play in that players place who would like to prove himself.

I hope we don't put a weakened side out on Monday. I would like to see as much of the first team as posiible to prove that we want to fight to win something.

We can't keep saying that we are just happy to have a club anymore. We do have a club but we need to see some commitment, passion and look like we want to win some games. The despondency has arisen from not seeing a great deal of confidence on the pitch. Plus the despondency is not just from one or two supporters I saw all it around the ground from many supporters yesterday.

Also my confidence with the floodlights worries me tomorrow because not only the first team but the youth team had a failure recently.

I don't see us going up this season and with the possibilty of Geurnsey coming up next season with their money. I don't see us doing it next season either but as long as I see some more fight and nice football played I will be happy watching.

Jesus, you pick on one sentence Keith Scott uttered in a meeting with fans and that somehow sets your expectations for the whole season?

FFS get real man!

Kevin Stott (effectively) said on many occasions in meetings that this season was about getting established and that whilst it would be great to see a successful team on the pitch in reality he would be happy to see us stay in the division and see the plans for the future revenue generating initiatives take shape.

That's MY benchmark. The fact that we HAVE a bloody team to support should be good enough for supporters in 2011 - but no, it seems the get rich quick, billy big [censored], I want and I want it NOW attitude that has infected so much of football in this country has even filtered down to supporters at this level and at this BRAND NEW club.

Unbelievable.

Firstly read back what i said again. you will see that i focus on the fact that the management and those at the higher level have created these expectations, not me or any other supporter. i pick on that quote because if you arent going to follow it, WHY SAY IT AT ALL? and the focus on building for the future in a higher league has been mentioned more than once.

yes we have a team, but that team is not performing and it's hardly surprising that people are not happy with that. a team and a manager with passion and determination who play for the shirt have my whole hearted support every week. but currently im unhappy to say that what i see isnt what i'd expect of a windsor side. i wish people would stop living in their own perfect little worlds and accept that this current side is vastly under performing.

Rother I take offence to the "it seems the get rich quick, billy big [censored], I want and I want it NOW attitude that has infected so much of football in this country has even filtered down to supporters at this level and at this BRAND NEW club." I've supported football in Windsor, at Stag Meadow for over 20 years. If people pay their hard earned money they are entitled to an opinion, whose to say your opinion is correct, whose to say Matt's opinion is correct, people are entitled to their opinions, good or bad towards the side. I thought the team didn't show enough 'heart' and 'drive' yesterday, my opinion and I stand by that. After the game at Molesey Keith Scott was quoted in the paper that he came down hard on the players that cost us on Tuesday evening, I'm sure some words were raised at half time and after the game yesterday, he exchanged some strong veiw from the dug out yesterday, so if Keith is entitled to be disappointed and frustrated why aren't supporters?

Sorry but have to agree with Matt and Geggy its not that we're not playing well that bothers me its the fact that some of the players simply look half hearted in what they are doing!!
