Really should of been a win again so many chances created yet only one goal scored!! Still at least we are creating them!!!! think at times we still try to force the issue too much and as a result good or promising moves break down. We have the quality just need to slow the pace sometimes and dictate the tempo rather than play full throttle!! Bully only had one save to make and yet we still drew the game. We still looked better as the games go by we will only improve as soon as the chances are taken the wins should flow. One last word on that Ash fan he did not stop for the whole 90 mins think the loony bin lost a patient lol!!!

back to the football, although i still have "ash ash ash united ted ted" running through my head!

1st half was very promising, controlled the match well and created a few decent chances. But yet again we failed to be clinical and didnt take a single chance that came our way.

2nd half was appalling. the structure seemed to disappear and had the ash player not decided that he was playing netball i dont see where we would have scored from. well taken penalty from ryan mind.

the midfield may as well of stayed in the changing room, as we didnt use them, the ball was just lumped up and missed the midfield completely. i can't help but feel that the brand of football we are currently playing is not likely to entice mnay new fans week in week out.

yash played a good half hour whilst being clearly injured....im assuming this as he was holding his ribs almost everytime i saw him after his clash with the keeper and ben porter was taken off despite looking very lively.

i can't help but feel that the ellis long throw is being over used as well, theres no short throw ins anymore its all just lauched into the box and it doesnt always work! maybe a tiny bit of variation might work wonders!

The problem with playing on the deck on that pitch was it being too bumpy hence the more direct approach was needed. With due respect to Ash they obviously have to play route one because the pitch isn't condusive to a passing game.

I agree with the comments, we did have enough chances and possession to have won the game comfortably but we are improving so let's hope we start scoring consistently and winning games.

From being at the game and having seen the video, I am at best surprised at some of the comments. Firstly- Yash was caught but I heard the bench ask him consistently and his response was that he was okay to continue. Secondly Ben cam off again as his hamstring was tighting and again we saw him signal and advise the bench. Thirdly- the chances- well there were a couple that should have been scored without doubt, but the one thing that the video confirmed was just how bad the pitch was. Look again- virtually every ball on the floor and in the box is a bouncing bomb. I would actually argue that if you do care to look, the penalty is a penalty but is also a direct result of the ball bounce on a very poor pitch.

Second Half- what has not been mentioned has been the conditions and in the second half Ash played with the benefit of the wind, which meant it was a struggle to get up. Having said all that, the truth is that if Bully doesnt make a basic error ( confirmed on video as their lad headed a straight ball in almost in the six yard box), we win 1-0!

The throw in- I disagree. You have a throw in that is almost like a corner. Why wouldnt you use it? They dont use it all the time so I disagree but do in the last third, and if required in Windsor's third to get them up the pitch? I dont recall it being an issue on the second goal against Oxford? This is game that should have been won- no doubt, and but for a basic error from a normally consistent player would have been.

firstly, the pitch is not the sole reason we failed to win that game and to be honest i think thats trying to make excuses to cover a poor performance. we are going to come across pitches like that at many grounds at this level and need a thought out game plan with how to approach games on bad pitches. lumping the ball up to ben porter is not that game plan.

as for the throw in, i agree it is like having a corner, but when the defence is automatically setting up for a long throw why not have runners into the space on the wings and drop in short throws whereby the wingers can then deliver the ball? maybe the element of surprise may help, that way the opposition defenders arnt going to know whats coming every time the ball goes out in their half!? i'm not saying dont use the long throw, just maybe not every single time the ball goes out!

as for the injuries its all well and good saying you're ok to continue, but how many players play through on adrenaline, even when they arnt capable of giving 100% for the cause. surely in cases such as this, where yash was clearly struggling the manager should take things into his own hands for the benefits of the team and make substitutions?

We always knew piches in this league will be poor so why do we have the smallest forward line probably in the league. If we are going to resort to long balls we need a bit of presence upfront to win flick ons, hold the ball up etc. I still think we have a poor knowledge of this level of football in terms of how teams play, oppostion players to be wary of and players we could sign from teams at this level.

Realistically we should be finishing the season in the top 3 bearing in mind the players we have, and we may do, but at the moment we do not look like we will be challenging the top teams.

Going by the video highlights, plus previous games, finishing looks an area that needs working on.We are creating numerous chances in the last 3 games and sooner or later they have to go in and we will end up thumping a team!

Eh- shall we just miss that for the keepers error as it was always going to be one -nil but for that? I base that on the fact Bully had no other saves to make! Shall we forget that we had 80% of the game whilst acknowledging as before we should have taken other chances? Seems like a glass half empty - no matter what?

We aways knew about pitches, and smallest forward line? Yash 5 11" tooley 5 10" ?. So because we knew about pitches- it means what? they are easy to play on? In that case why did Guildford lose at farnham? There is one game so far that Windsor were poor- the first against South Park. Since then it has got better and more settled and who is to say that there wont still be personnel changes?

Ryan and Ben have mainly played up front so far. Yash has mainly featured on the wing....for some reason

I think after the uthoria of the win, and good performance against Slough, the competetive games have been a bit of a dissapointment, especially looking at the individuals we have in the squad.

I appreciate errors happen, thats why 1-0 is always a dangerous scoreline, one mistake and the hard work is undone.

Geggy - I agree, that was as poor a performance I have seen at Stag Meadow for a while, although the Oxford game was much better.

I hope we take our chances Saturday as going out the Vase at this stage will be dissapointing, especially with a very winable game in the next round.

the south park game was bad, as was dorking imo. i thought we were poor for the majority of the epsom away game and from what ive heard we were poor in the croydon game as well. it's quite concerning that the issue of needing to be clinical is still an issue after several weeks of having the chance to put it right.

ben porter has featured up front on every occasion he has played and i wholly agree that a big target man is what we need if we are going to play a long ball style.

for all the chances against ash, only 1 or 2 could be considered real chances, the rest are merely half chances and none of them are easy. until we take these chances we are going to struggle. guildford are averaging almost 3 goals a game whereas we are managing just over a goal a game....therein lies the difference between us and them
