of course its going to be a tough game. they are 2 levels higher than us and no doubt they on paper at least should beat us.

im convinced however that our players will be massively fired up for it and we have nothing to lose. lets hope we give it a good go and make sure if we do lose that we go out having given them 1 hell of a match

definitely agree that we simply have to concentrate on Daventry first. league promotion first priority without doubt

Thing is HT, I don't think it is a bad thing to be over confident with this squad of players, when you go through the squad the vast majority have played and been successful at a much higher level, these games are more than winnable for them... Unfortunately, the league they play in drags them down a lot but I firmly believe with a couple of tweaks here and there, they would gain promotion from the Southern Premier and survive in the Conference South!!!

That result doesn't mean anything, looking at the pedigree in our squad we would match and Conference South team on our day!!!

The point being CR that it's being said that they are near the bottom of the Conference South and a good time to play them as they must be low on confidence.

That win last night has blown that theory out of the water. So in terms of their confidence the result last night, I would say, is quite significant.

Happens all the time RR, Boreham Wood would have raised their game like we will against them but I will not be surprised if they are back to losing ways at the weekend.

With Murphy suspended it's a tricky one as I'm not sure in a game like this whether Swift or Masala have the defensive qualities and engine of Murphy!!!

I think we'll line up with a back 4 of Sweeney, NBH, Woozley, Byrne but I'll more than likely be wrong... Sweeney could play left wing back but I remember the last time he played there and was pretty ineffective, and we were 3-0 down at half time against Chesham!!!

All managers have their favourites and I struggle to see your point here... Is Brown better than NBH and Woozley? Is Logie better than Coyne and Martin? Is Marsala better than Sinclair and Swift? Are Mpi and Abbey better than Burnell and Sonner?

The answer is no, all good players with different attributes and will all play their part!!!

Didn't realise Boreham Wood also have former Ipswich forward Darren Currie in their squad -- he scored 2 penalties to beat table-toppers Welling. Hell of a player and will be very dangerous. Our defence will have a hard time containing him, but we can certainly do it.

One of the joys of being a supporter, we can speculate on the team to play, but the manager chooses and gets the stick anyway. I would pick my favourites, those who I think would do the job too! Actually, we are no different to earlier generations where sometimes views were expressed by letter to the local newspapers on team selection. Good to see we keep the tradition going.

I believe we have a fair chance of beating Wood and we certainly owe them for the heavy defeat they gave us when we fielded a scratch side in our last season in the Premier Division, let alone the recent cup defeat. This could give us a real boost.

UP THE REBELS!

Hayes, did you have to remind us of that 6-1 drubbing. When Nigel said at the turnstiles that he predicted we would win, while Roger had starting collecting bets at away games as we tried to guess just how heavy we would lose by each game. When we still outsang the home fans? A good reminder of just how far we have come in a short space of time.

And great news about planning application being submitted in December. Let's hope the council act quickly, rather than the alloted 13 weeks so we can get building asap. Thanks Steve Easterbrook for all your hard work on this.
