SSML (Division Two) v Southern Amateur League – 21 September

Recommended Posts

I thought that Wednesday’s FA National League System Cup First Round tie, being played at Oxhey Jets, warranted its own thread particularly as The 61 FC appear to be ruling the roost again or so I have heard on the grapevine, I’m quite surprised that Richard Everitt is still in control of the team.

That’s a poor attitude if I may say so, is that just because no Winslow United players were invited to play on Wednesday

Just as well your opinion means nothing to no one. We battered 61 in final not even on same planet let alone league. Rep sides are meaningless or certainly are now. As I say I'm very pleased we aren't as it is a risk and we'd gain nothing.

Well there are no midweek Division 2 fixtures so the lame excuse of too many games in a packed season and the risk of getting injured doesn't really hold any water, more like sour grapes if one of your players isn't called into Richard Everitt's squad for Wednesday

It would appear that the Southern Amateur League are taking the game very seriously on Wednesday so I don’t see why we can’t, it’s a poor show that’s all I can say:

The competition and draw is heavily featured on the FA Website so surely we should be taking Wednesday’s tie with the Southern Amateur League seriously:

If we had a decent Manager with no ties to a club then maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing, but the bloke from The 61 uses it as another game for his players so comes across as a bit of a joke.

Got stuffed last season v Letchworth.....probably wont be any different this time around.

I take it by your silence that it's a 'no' to my question.

We knew about this FA National League System Cup First Round tie ages ago so why didn’t Richard Everitt e-mail all Division 2 Secretaries at the beginning of this season asking for expressions of interest in the game giving a deadline of say two weeks, he could then have gone back to the Club’s who responded asking for a list of players who the Club felt would be available and good enough to represent the SSML against the Southern Amateur League. Mr Everitt could have then gone away with 15-20 names to mull over and pick a decent side more than capable of winning comfortably tomorrow evening.

Yes he "could have".....perfectly valid way of doing it, perhaps te coach should be from the team highest ranked from previous season too....our gaffer wouldn't have released anyone for it anyway

will be interesting to see the result

Robbie – Well if The 61 FC, sorry, SSML side take a hiding tomorrow evening then surely Richard Everitt will have to be held to account however I’m confident we can beat a team with players in it from the likes of Nottsborough, Old Salesians, Old Wilsonians, Winchmore Hill and ‘the mighty’ East Barnet Old Grammarians.

All Div Two clubs were invited by the league to put forward names of players for the side. Wonder how many bothered?
