In the excitement of the win I forgot to mention......

Everything statistical on the Official site is up to date following today's game bar the attendance.

The Match Details and League Fixtures pages will have updates on all the other FA Cup games featuring Ryman Premier clubs as and when the filter through.

I thinkj its called 'serving your customers' and dedication. (from wellsie and steveB

i guess that must add to the frustration; when the odd unfounded criticism comes in re: lack/speed of info.

service is second to none at any level outside league 2 imo .

great interview with Kwesi and Tom. Its good to hear when players enjoy playing for each other.

There is great team spirit amoungst this group of players. When they got on the coach last Wednesday they all started to chant 'We Are The Gate, We Are The Gate.'

Match report also now available: www.margate-fc.com.

After last weeks trip to Belgrade it was back to driving to Colchester Railway Station to catch the train. This was the 1st time my dad had come with me this season using this method. Arrived at Margate just as we had a squally shower. A rather run down seaside resort not helped by the first thing you see when you arrive is an awful looking tall block of flats.

The FA Cup with Budweiser 1st Round Qualifying

Margate 3 (15pen, 75 & 81)

Tooting & Mitcham Utd 0

Att: 340 KO: 1500 Cost: £10 Progs: Yes

Venue: Hartsdown Park, Hartsdown Road, Margate.

Dissappointing ground although it appears parts of it are under reconstruction. 2 floodlight pylons each side. All down 1 side is out of bounds except for a tiny stretch of hardstanding for approx 10 yards. This side has the portacabins as changing rooms. The remainder of the ground has hardstanding & is fulled railed/barriered. Nothing behind far goal except for a stupidly low fence so the ball goes over easily. Other side has large tarmac areas, another portacabin as toilets, a snack bar selling hot food, the sausages did look large. There are then 2 covered areas of seating with 4 rows in each. These are close together & of the new standard variety & an extra £1 is charged to sit in these. The best & only decent bit of the ground is behind the near goal with a mixture of allsorts. At the front are 5 rows of terracing but these have little steepness but they are wide. Above this in the corner are some glass fronted buildings. In the centre are 7 steep rows of terracing which is covered. Further along is the clubhouse & club shop with windows looking out. There is some overhang along these. In the corner is a tiny 6 step terrace.

Match: Both in Ryman Isthmian League Premier Division.

Shots in 1st half 9-0. Totally one-sided half as T&M managed to get out of their own half barely half a dozen times. I know it was windy but this was a woeful half from them. After the goal Margate only had 3 more efforts although one was just wide & another the gk saved from a header. Margate should've been more than one goal up at h/t.

Wondered if it was the wind which made the 1st half was one-sided was thrown in the bin after 6mins of 2nd half as still all Margate. T&M made a substitution & the game changed as in a 10minute spell they could have scored 5 times. The gk made a couple of saves from long distance shots, an effort hit the bar & an overhead kick went just wide. Also a 1on1 was put wide. A further 10mins on after 72mins the gk saved again & this was their last attempt. From this point onwards Margate finished strongly with 2 goals & could of added to the scoreline. The gk made a couple of good saves including tipping one onto the bar & a shot was kicked off the line. Funniest moment was when the 2nd goal went in & the announcer gave goal to the no.9 which was roundly jeered by the home fans near him as most people thought it was the no.10 who should be awarded the goal. ( Wellsie on form again!)

A fair scoreline although could've been totally different if T&M had scored in their 10min purple patch.
