Up until now, the match updates that appear in the Match Details pages and also the automatic updating of the league table, scorers and latest score in the left column relied on the entire page completely refreshing to check if there had been any updates.

 

The problem with this was that if you were doing anything other than looking at the match updates, such as filling in the contact form, the refresh would annoyingly take you back to the top of the page, or remove everything that you had typed in the form.

 

After a bit (lot) of reading up, I have learned how to cause just the required areas to refresh and therefore not affect anything else you are doing.

 

The other bonus to it is that as it is only a small section refreshing at a time, you do not even notice it, so the whole effect is a lot smoother.

 

I have tested it as much as I can this evening and it seems to work fine but if anyone has any problems with it during the Tooting game, post on the forum and I will turn the standard refresh back on.

Only have minimal grasp of this IT stuff-but think i understand-and sounds like a really good update-and in no small way,'compensate ' those who will miss the live broadcasts
