It was a wonderous spineless display by Hertford Town in the cup today losing 1-0 to Oxhey Jets at home. The second week in a row they have crashed out of a big (FA) competition with the new manager in charge. Apparently it's ok because they've signed a striker.... too little too late in my eyes.

 

The Blues can be proud of their fans today. Im sure Oxhey will agree, it was a cauldron of noise and it's good to have at this level of the game.

Hanwell Town 1 v Royston Town 5

 

The score was 1 1 midway frew the first half believe it or not. Royston Town were by far the better team and they should have scored a lot more goals then they did but we made some great last ditch defending today and we did have some good chances to score but our finishing just aint good enough at the mo. Royston Town are the best team i have seen Hanwell play this season and we have played a few of the better teams in the league so far this season thats for sure. I do feel that we really do need a quick centre back and a centre midfielder who can boss and control the game and a big striker who can challenge our opponents defence in the air.

Spot on with that assessment eric, the Magnificent Two now managing the team really didn't seem to have a Plan B, though its debateable whether they actually had a Plan A. Four players on the bench, including the best left back at the club and a tricky young striker, one nil down with £3000 prize money at stake, no attempt to change a losing formula, shambles! I don't think many of the 164 present will be back to watch that kind of performance again. Having watched the majority of HTFC games over the past nine years, with many more performances like this, I think I may soon be looking for alternative entertainment on a saturday afternoon.

We took the lead on the stroke of half time but didn't get the second until 15 from the end & 3rd with 5 to go.

Only had 1 or 2 proper saves to make so a quiet day at the office !
