Yes, if Barton had a Burnell or a Sonner I think they'd be much higher up the table. Outplayed us for much of the first half but no end product, fortunately for us.

 

Games like this are about three points to keep us up there. Long way to go but to put into context how difficult it's going to be Rugby, the team that beat us so easily on Saturday, were thumped 5-1 by St Neots last night!

I see that St Neots have signed 'talented 21 year old Rene Steer' from Arsenal. He signed pro forms for Aresenal in 2007 and played in the Carling Cup against Burnley.

 

All I can say is how much money do St Neots have to splash around to win the league?

Thanks for asking - the aches are subsiding but my shoulder is still sore. What this proves is despite all the cycling I'm too old to play football against a bunch of 20 year olds!!

I went to Barton v St Neots, they didn't let us play football at all, gave us no time on the ball. I felt we were lucky to come away with a 1 nil win. A win is a win there.

Nice to see Tom clearing up that St Neots didn't actually buy a player from Arsenal, just a play who did play there during his career - This is where/how St Neots "money" rumours start. :D

we didnt play all that well at all

 

glimpses of close to our best here and there. Barton must be gutted that they werent leading at half time. to be 2-0 down when you have dominated must be demoralising

 

win over performance any day though. you would have probably prefered to see a massively improved performance after the Rugby loss and im not so sure we got it but result was positive so who cares

Suppose there shouldn't be a comparison but:

 

2010/2011

 

P 8 W 5 D 0 3 GF 20 GA 15 Pts 15

 

2011/2012

 

P 8 W 5 D 1 L 2 GF 16 GA 8 Pts 16

 

So, 1 more point, still scoring goals and conceding less... Let's just hope the next 5 games don't bring 1 point from 15 and we'll be right in the mix I think!!!

 

We do need NBH back in with Brown and Woozely though!!!

Non league football is full of ex premiership players.

There are some right bargains to be had but you need managers & coaches to have the right connections to get them.St Neots have that.Yes they seem to have a bit of money but don't think that Stefan Moore is a big name,he didn't do it at a decent level but is a very good player at his current level

From what i understand (my friend is a St neots fan),a large slice of their budget is taken up for two players,one of which is obviously Stefan Moore.

They have a good scouting network which was started with Steve Lomas and attract good loan players.They are certainly a club on the up with decent Support,a nice Stadium and from what i understand a very good pitch indeed which must be a good selling point when attracting loan players from the likes of peterborough,cambridge utd,northampton etc etc
