Well my second posting,,,,,,, not gonna make a habit of it because my old PC dont like this new system!

In the cold light of day, with what has gone on over the last few weeks, it was inevitable it was going to happen, so for it to happen so quickly is probably for the best for all concerned.

Im sorry for Matt as there was a lot of misinformation put about, which helped lead to the current level of concern.

I would say in his defence that this myth about playing "long ball" was a misunderstanding between him and the players which I thought was put to bed with them on the tuesday training session following the Vase Match.

Also there was never a plan that I knew off to bring in 7 or 8 players and rightly or wrongly the players bought in were largely due to suspensions, holidays and injuries and were dual signings in order to help get us through the current player availability situation. (Accepting the comments regarding the potential of some of the Reserve Players but there was not a great deal of time to look at their potential and as people point out above, these were two big games).

Football is about opinions and I accept that many of those made above were born from genuine concern and love for HTFC.

Long may they have such passionate support.

As for me, I would like to think I did a little more around the club than fill water bottles in my two stints with the club, but whatever I did, I am glad to have done it and be at the club when it did indeed have great Management Teams.

Coming back,,,,,,, I guess I let my heart rule my head, but thats life.

Finally, I would like to thank all those at the club who did offer a kind welcome on my return and to the Players with whom I had a very enjoyable 4 Training Sessions.

Hopefully, now we can all move forward

Wishing HTFC all the best

P.S. My Grammer/Spell Checker (Jonno) will no doubt correct my mistakes in the near future

Rhys and John Barker are in charge tomorrow. Not sure about Dave Tripp - feel sorry for him in fairness cos he has just jumped into a fire and you cant help feel sorry for the ex-manager to a certain extent, not really been given a fair crack of the whip, however judging by feedback from people and comments on this forum it wasn't all rosy!

Personally I wouldve give Allen a couple more games, after all the drama of the week it would've been up to him to prove that hes a winner and he's kept the dressing room happy by beating Harefield on Saturday and Dunstable on a Tuesday night.

Maybe the board just couldnt get along with him?

Think the chairman made a mistake it making things hard for Scott so much so that he had to leave in the first place but have to give him the credit this time around for getting rid of this manager before things got worse at an early stage.

I'd give him credit if he asked the Gaffa to return on his terms and we could all start enjoying our football again.

Was wondering why the "club officials" page was never updated - the manager's position has been listed as vacant for the last 3-4 weeks. :o :o :o :o

Dave

Just to let you all know that the Chairman wasnt part of the decision to get rid of the manager. He wasnt at the board meeting and didnt want to get rid of him cos he was his man...as I said in an earlier post this thread has legs...it could get even longer when the chairman returns from his break!!

i think the club should be concerned with all these rumours being leaked before anything official has been announced, it sounds like they have a rat.

On the football side today it was good to see the team playing well, ok they lost but it was a defelcted goal and the Hares were lucky to keep us at bay. It's not easy when many players are missing through suspension and injuries. im pretty sure the loss has nothing to do to whats been going on.

Perhaps they should announce something official then.....social media alongside the normal "rumour mill" with regards local football, all sorts of stuff is circulating. There seems to be a few people on here who know a lot about the club and clearly watched todays game, good chance one of them is a board member considering the number of fans who were there :) - no doubt Roland our Rat will fill us in all in with more information as it happens.

I must have been watching a different game yesterday then. I thought Hertford were poor. If it was not for the keeper they would have lost by 3 or 4. There was only three or four Hertford players that looked like they wanted it the others were very poor and seemed like they did not care either way.

Allen leaves Hertford

By Alasdair Gold

NEW Hertford Town boss Matt Allen has been sacked after just two matches in the dugout.

00042109%20-%20237x237.jpgAllen's two games brought exits from the FA Vase and FA Cup and the new man had a tough job on his hands to take on a squad of players who were firmly behind former boss Scott O'Donoghue, who walked out after clashes with chairman Mike Varney.

Allen's assistant Dave Tripp has also left the club in the wake of his departure.

Rhys Tom, who left his position as Blues first team coach this week, returned to take charge of the team, with under-18s manager John Barker, in a caretaker role as they lost 1-0 at home to Harefield United.

love the game, i have to partially agree with you, Hertford coud have been 2 or 3 down if not for Robbo - but that is his job and thats why he is showing he is one of the best.

However Hertford did start brightly prior to the goal but were then awful in the first half. In the second half i think I saw Robbo have a little nap he had so little to do. Perhaps the chances were not as clear cut as Harefields in the first half but the overall possesion and passing game improved and there were chances to equalise. Harefields manager was relieved at the final whistle and a draw would have been a fair result. Hopefully some of the 7 players missing from the Burnham game will be back this week although Dunstable away will be very tough!
