New Hertford Town Manager....

Recommended Posts

firstly I think blaming the keeper for the current issues at the club is a bit out of line. Having seen most games this season I can honestly say that Robbo is not to blame and in fact was man of the match at Barkingside and saved 3 in the shoot out against Burnham. The decision to choose Robbo over Lacey was a very difficult one and im sure thats not the reason for any of the losses this season.

secondly prior to the new management the team beat Berko, V & E away, Barkingside away and Burnham Ramblers, this is hardly the signs of a bad team.

The current issues are a team going from being a passing attacking team who tried to win every game in a positive manor to being more defensive and direct from back to front. Add a lack of team spirit to that and it has lead to 2 bad losses to teams Hertford should be beating in competitions that could bring valuable funds to the club.

I think you will find that Dick Turpin knows Sam Lacey very well indeed!

i think you will find Sam Lacey is an overated tw*t ( in his own world)

"an overated tw.t" based on what knowledge has this statement come from then.

on the subject of "tw*ts" which happens to be a delicate piece of the female anatomy, that when gently caressed sends a women crazy...............i would say ask your old women about it but she aint gonna know is she!!!!!!!

Looks like the rot has started....

New manager starts with a loss to a team bottom of the ESL and who are at best very very average.

Rumours are that Pablo Ardilles has already left the club citing that he couldnt play in a side that are just going to smash it long how many are going to follow.....

According to some of the players on saturday the atmosphere in the dressing room has been killed already with the manager not being able to speak to anyone, this is what has been one of the huge successes of the club and previous management team and how a team with no budget managed to stay in the top 10 of ssml TEAM SPIRIT and attractive football.

The local paper have quoted that no whole-sale changes will be made yet 7 or 8 new players are thought to be signing this week.....is this the beggining of the end. Not only this but surely taking over a team that has won 4 on the bounce tactics dont need to be changed drastically as the old saying goes....if its not broke dont fix it. Dont get me wrong the odd signing in ceratin areas wouldnt go a miss but.......? Yet it was very evident the players were told to smash it long on saturday .....and no suprise that defeat followed.

Looks like Scott Odonoghue was right ......

100% loss so far, an excellent start that fills all us fans with hope. What are the odds on making it 3 out of 3 on Saturday, then 4 out of 4 at Dunstable next Tuesday? It's clear the players are unhappy, there is no need for whole sale changes. It's not like they cant play football when we saw them beat Chalfont after being 3-1 down!

I know as fans we should be supporting the team but on Saturday we sung our hearts out and were rewarded with nothing. I lost count of how many fans said they couldnt see or hear Matt Allen doing anything from the touchline. He compounded our misery when he didnt even make a substitution and we were chasing the game!

Surely the £3000 for winning would have helped pay the wages of Ryan Wade who was seen strutting around the ground...

I thought Saturday's result was very disappointing. Oxhey could have been beaten. When we were one down with 10 minutes to go, I thought we could have made a couple of changes, but nothing was done by the manager. We had a proven goalscorer in Lillis who seems to be a nailed to the bench, whats the point of naming these players as subs if you dont use them! Also some of the additions to the team seemed worse than the players that were dropped.

Unless something is done very quickly, the season will be a long, hard and difficult one.

My word where to start......

Firstly what is going on behind the scenes at the club i dont honestly no but something must be seriously wrong from the latest bout of rumours.....more to come on that front no doubt.

Firstly saturday from the stands seemed a joke from start to finish......Jack Evans (Probably our best midfielder) left on the bench for Chris 'More clubs than a golfer and cant pass water' Hewitt and Matt Mcardle in for Michael Casey who was banished to the reserves with no reason given... i now hear that Jack Evans was notgiven one either and is unlikely to return to the club now. Dont get me wrong Mccardle can do a job but has not been seen for 3 or 4 weeks so begs the question how he can be put in in front of our two Mr Reliables as for the decision to play Hewitt instead of these two lads that got us to in the round i personally think the decision stinks !!! As well as the Man Management or lack of that has also gone with it !!

Then there were the tactics and formation change at half time.....Well im dumfounded i think Mr Varney may as well have pulled a bloke off the top of West Street to come and take the reigns after all he has a good water boy/kitman in Mr Tripp and lets be honest that is all you were under a previous far more succesful management team !! Then the decision to leave a natural left back on the bench for a right footed young (but exciting prospect) lad who cost us the goal by not being able to open himself up and play with his left......not to mention leaving Mr Invisible on who's only touch was to miss and open goal.

We have gone from playing attractive football .....yes not going to win the league but on our day could have given anyone a run for there money....to direct kick and rush rubbish. We pay our money Mr Tripp and have the right to expect better and ask the question why the heart is being ripped from our club. With all due respect you Mr Varney and Matt Allen seem to have wrecked and i do say this because the rumours im hearing are that Rhys Tom has now been asked to leave.....Jack Evans wont be returning.....and more are set to follow. Mr Tripp surely you and your sidekicks should be looking at yourselves and asking WHY???

Just as we seem to be getting some where as a club i.e reserves u18's everything is going tits up again and alot of peoples very HARD work is being destroyed and that includes Scott Odononghue who worked tirelessly to move the club forward with absolutley NO budget. I have also heard Matt Allen in the bar on saturday saying the club 'has been known as a family club for so long now its time we moved on from that' ARE YOU SURE ???? this is what has made HTFC HTFC you mindless numskull. I for one wont being bringing myself or kids down there until your removed from your position IM NOT PAYING HARD EARNED CASH TO WATCH THAT sh*t.

Christmas is coming soon if i could have one present it would be to have the old management team and atmosphere that they brought to the place back ASAP before its too late !!!! HTFC BOARD WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE 2 DEFEATS FROM 2 AND 5K IN PRIZE MONEY AND GATE RECEIPTS DOWN THE DRAIN WHEN THERE WAS NO NEED. DO SOMETHING !!!!

I must agree with "Fromthestands". To leave Jack Evans (I hope he isn't going, as he is one of the best midfield players in the League) on the bench and play Hewitt who has never kicked a ball at HTFC beggars belief. Xaniel did absolutely nothing and young Sam was playing out of position at LB. Crowhurst was also sadly missed, at least he can win some ball.

This can't go on much longer or there will only be one man and his dog watching this 'long ball/hit the channels' game!

And Pablo going is a major blow

Yes and to St Margaretsbury of all places, that must leave a sour taste in the mouth at Hertingfordbury Park:

its not as bitter the taste of losing out on £3500 to improve the club and pay the players what they deserve!

Hertford should be kicking themselves for not turning over Oxhey.......that amount of money at this level is massive!!

Sad situation but rest assured this story is likely to get a lot more interesting....this thread may have legs....

On another note, Wodson Park A team on Saturday in the Centenary Trophy for me....oh and I forgot to mention we are playing away at Allenburys, somehow that swayed my decision!!!

I heard there could be some major developments on this story!

Good luck tomorrow, even my touch was good at Alleburys. I'm with the firsts, possibly my first start for them this season. Haringey away in the Vase... no pressure

Cos this is the Hertfordshire football circuit and word travels fast - it is on Facebook from a player who has been contacted by the caretaker manager.
