New Hertford Town Manager....

Recommended Posts

Looks like the rot has started....

New manager starts with a loss to a team bottom of the ESL and who are at best very very average.

Rumours are that Pablo Ardilles has already left the club citing that he couldnt play in a side that are just going to smash it long how many are going to follow.....

According to some of the players on saturday the atmosphere in the dressing room has been killed already with the manager not being able to speak to anyone, this is what has been one of the huge successes of the club and previous management team and how a team with no budget managed to stay in the top 10 of ssml TEAM SPIRIT and attractive football.

The local paper have quoted that no whole-sale changes will be made yet 7 or 8 new players are thought to be signing this week.....is this the beggining of the end. Not only this but surely taking over a team that has won 4 on the bounce tactics dont need to be changed drastically as the old saying goes....if its not broke dont fix it. Dont get me wrong the odd signing in ceratin areas wouldnt go a miss but.......? Yet it was very evident the players were told to smash it long on saturday .....and no suprise that defeat followed.

Looks like Scott Odonoghue was right ......

The mini run of wins was when the club was techincally without a manager-but I feel that losing Scott was Hertford's loss. And Pablo going is a major blow. The "tweets" from last week's FAV defeat hinted that all was not well. With a big FAC tie coming up and (in theory) a good chance of getting thru to the 2QR - this is not a good time for big personnel changes (or I guess a new system that ppl aren't comfortable with). But - I guess as with most things - we'll have to see how it goes.

Yes, it's sad to read about in the Hertfordshire Mercury:

There's a really worrying name in that article! Hertford fans will recognise who I mean!

Last time I saw him he was at London Colney (end of last season).

Hi Guys, Yes This is David Tripp.

Although I am a regular follower of the Forum, I dont actually know who you are due to your User Names.

But that does not really matter, as I fully accept that you are only expressing your views based upon your love for Hertford Town FC and I am in no postion to question that, or will even try to.

I cant say how sad I am that you feel so dissapointed in my return to a Club (for a third spell), a club which I have always loved myself.

Since leaving HTFC, I have been at Broxbourne Boro, Welwyn Garden City and London Colney and had this season joined the Caoching Staff at Wodson Park.

I do not know the facts behind Scott's departure BUT would join everyone in saying it is a great shame that Scott left and would agree with everyone on what a great job he had done both on and off the pitch and for the club overall. This feeling also goes to all of his staff, especially Pablo who has been a great servant to the club.

Matt Called me on monday after Pablo had confirmed he was leaving and asked me if I wanted to join him.

The chance of working with Matt was exiting but to me it was also fantastic being offered the opportunity to retun to HTFC.

I actually think that it is a good thing that you have expressed your views as it raises an issue which should not be ignored or allowed to fester.

The club is close nit and the supporters a big part of this extended family and the club is the most important thing here, especially at this time.

Is there any chance we can discuss your concerns outside of this forum?.

Regards

From the Non League Today website, I bet there wasn’t a dry eye in the dressing room last Tuesday evening:

Anyway. At no risk of not pointing out the obvious it's (almost) all about results - so the new management team needs to guide the Blues to a FAC-1QR win against Oxhey.

it's been 20 years since the Blues almost made it to the 4thQR after memorable wins against Dulwich and Staines.

The 2 Blues fans in Perth will be watching the tweets -plenty of beer in the fridge !

firstly I think blaming the keeper for the current issues at the club is a bit out of line. Having seen most games this season I can honestly say that Robbo is not to blame and in fact was man of the match at Barkingside and saved 3 in the shoot out against Burnham. The decision to choose Robbo over Lacey was a very difficult one and im sure thats not the reason for any of the losses this season.

secondly prior to the new management the team beat Berko, V & E away, Barkingside away and Burnham Ramblers, this is hardly the signs of a bad team.

The current issues are a team going from being a passing attacking team who tried to win every game in a positive manor to being more defensive and direct from back to front. Add a lack of team spirit to that and it has lead to 2 bad losses to teams Hertford should be beating in competitions that could bring valuable funds to the club.

I think you will find that Dick Turpin knows Sam Lacey very well indeed!
