**** Emergency Downtime ****

Hi,

 

I need to do an emergency server upgrade tonight. This will mean that the forums may be down for a period tonight / early tomorrow.

 

I will aim to do most of the work, whilst you are sleeping - but some downtime tomorrow may be experienced.

 

This is unavoidable I'm afraid.

 

The work could take up to 5 hours to complete.

 

I will post in this thread again, once the work has been completed.

We have started the work - so some downtime may happen over the next 12 hours.

 

We are keeping any breaks to a miniumum.

Although I can access the Gravesend forums, I cant link to any of the other forums as, when I point at forums, it stays as an arrow, and doesnt allow the list of all forums to appear - I assume this is due to the work you are doing??

Ian, on a separate note, I appear to be getting an issue more and more frequently where I'm getting 'page cannot be displayed' even though my net connection is perfectly fine. Any reasons as to why?

What version of which browser are you using? PC or MAC?

 

Also check this page - http://forums.nonleague.com/browser_check.php - do all tests pass?

 

If you are using a PC - is it up to date http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

 

I can't replicate the errors - but I do know of one other site that is getting similar problems - he can't track it down either

PC, and all the tests pass ok. I'm having grief with IE at the moment where it keeps crashing, but thats something I'm looking into. It's a very intermittent fault and usually clears within five minutes or so.
